  1. Perhaps the reason why people turn to drugs is because of stress. Have you even taken a second to consider that before passing such a judgement on them? As for emotional trauma. I've lived through watching my parents die of cancer, being right there with them from beginning to end and having to deal wth the aftermath. Months of it. Don't tell me that emotional trauma is a part of life. I am more than bloody aware of that. And that is the only fairly recent stuff I've had to deal with. Telling me that being too calm in those situations is a bad thing? Staying calm and keeping a relaxed mindset is what got me through it! Now I suggest you think very carefully before responding to what I just said. Quite frankly, I hope this topic gets locked.
  2. It's not a myth. Overworking makes people ill. Emotional trauma makes people ill. Anything in general that causes undue amounts of pressure makes people ill. A relaxed mind and emotionally sound stability is what gets people through stressful situations. Relaxation is a counter for stress. Without relaxation, stress devours you and makes you ill not only physically, but mentally and emotionally. And there are A LOT of people who can back that up. Myself included.
  3. Pretty sure that my life of dealing with stressful situations is enough to warrant my position that stress is not good for me.
  4. Stress is a pain in the backside and I get more done when I'm relaxed without hazards keep popping up and getting under my feet when I'm trying to get things done properly at a pace that doesn't damage my health.

Ooof, you know lockdown's got to you when you stalk Postman Pat :P

  7. I've yet to test the limits of how much alcohol I can tolerate. I'm kind of curious though. But to be honest, I would really really want a good friend or comrade to join in with me.
  8. Midnight and beyond are usually working hours for me. So yeah, I always have snacks on my desk to feast on while working.
  9. I went with Starlight Glimmer as a role model. I might be a little biased in terms that I find her relatable. It's just that things like her reformation carry a pretty strong message for me. If one falls and loses their way, and makes a few bad decisions, then there is always a chance for them to learn and change. To pick themselves back up and find their way again. And from that harsh and much needed lesson, go on to make a difference, even if there are times where they don't feel like they are ready. To me a good role model isn't somepony/someone who is perfect in absolutely every way. To me a good role model is one that has flaws that they overcome. One that demonstrates the strength to be able to change for the better, no matter how far they may have fallen. What better lesson for kids than one that teaches them that it is okay to fail and get things wrong, just as long as they learn from their mistakes and grow stronger. And if they find themselves on a dark path, there's always a way back or a route off it.
  10. As a very casual greeting, I usually say "a'ight?" (with a small reverse nod) which is basically, "alright?". Which in turn, is a casual form of "How do you do?". I say "Tah very much!" as a very casual way of saying thank you. I also say "Aye" (pronouncing it as eye) as a very casual way of saying "yes" I also say "Nah!" as a casual way of saying "no". Then there are times when I say "Me-self" rather than "myself". Most of these were mostly born from a mixture of creative expression, past environments and playfulness. At my very core, I am rather formal with my speech and really polite. So the differences don't really show, unless in casual company.
  11. Usually just regular toast if I'm not that hungry or can't really be bothered to cook dinner. Due to my weird nocturnal sleeping patterns, I've also had dinner for breakfast. Nothing beats having a chicken curry for breakfast at 8 in the morning.
  12. I tried going to bed a while ago. However, my mind and imagination wouldn't let me sleep. :ButtercupLaugh:

That's one of the things with writing stories. Especially long ones that you've been writing for more years than you can remember. You're always working on them, even when you're away from the computer/notebook. Even when you've gone to bed, everything plays out in your mind to the point some nights when you go to bed, you have to get back up to write or sit up daydreaming through scenes and character interactions. Then you're up for hours working on it all.

I wouldn't change any of that.

@Tacodidra One of the greatest pieces of advice I have heard given to those who have thought about taking up writing is that "Writing is a verb. Do it". :ButtercupLaugh:

@Princess of Hearts 💛🧡 Usually, I put myself in the place of my characters to try and understand them better. It's usually the way where at the very beginning I try to make the character. But the character ends up making itself and telling me what it does or what it feels. :ButtercupLaugh:

I wish I had that problem, I would write all day and all night without problems.

Now Im reading, so I can become better at writing. I have a story in mind. :sneer:

  14. I've been very lucky in regards to the virus. The only thing it has delayed is the sale of the house. Everything else seems to still be on track. I just wish it could be the same for a lot of other people right now. It is a rather nice skirt. It should be delivered tomorrow with everything else I ordered.
  15. "Everything feels like it's finally falling into place. Just a few more months of hard work and careful planning."
  16. When my best friend and I finished secondary school, we decided to visit our old primary school. Although it was the middle of the school day, they let us walk around and visit our old classrooms. We chatted with our old teachers and visited all of our old hang out spots. Not much had really changed. Even the metal clothes peg I bent out of a fit of rage back in Year 4 was still there.
  17. Occasionally, I will buy one bottle of red wine a month. I only started drinking alcohol since the beginning of this year. Before that, nothing. The reason I started was because my body started demanding that I drink a glass of red wine or two before bed. Wasn't really sure why, until i tried it and discovered that the chill that I get on my back during the colder nights vanished without a trace and allowed me to fall asleep in comfort.

    Starlight Glimmer!

    maxresdefault.jpg

Most people online relate to me as more of a Pinkie Pie. However, the truth is that in real life, I am very much like Starlight Glimmer in many many ways. Even those career quiz things that I've taken in the past have pointed towards the best job I'm suited for is a job as a Guidance Counselor. I've found her to be a very relatable character throughout the show since she appeared. Yes including when she enslaved an entire village.

@Treeglow Flicker I feel like that relate with Luna the most! I’ve known what it’s like to feel like an outcast and you feel like you’re just walking in everyone’s shadow! :LunaMCM:

But me and Luna both learned that you always have friends and family to help you through the tough times! :LunaMCM:

Oh and she loves video games too! :LunaMCM:

I find Starlight to be the most relatable character too. She and I can both be socially awkward and have anger problems at times, but we both try to be nice to others and please our friends.

  21. Creating weird and wonderful entities within my thoughts to talk to occasionally helps. Talking to inanimate objects also helps.
