  1. My current one is the oldest one I've lived in so far. 17th century apparently. Or was it 18th? I used to actually know off the top of my head. The oldest before that was a victorian semi detached house.
  2. I'm honest with it. If I'm feeling depressed, then it's usually for a good reason. So if I'm feeling sad or really awful for whatever reason, then I allow myself to feel it out. I'll close myself away for a little while and have an internal conversation with myself or whatever entity my mind summons that may have a solution. I bounce my thoughts and feelings back and forth with that entity to the point it feels like the returned answers are almost sentient. It's always been a good exercise for me to get to the root of what is troubling me, especially when it's something I can't initially see or feel. I might not always find a solution, but I always feel a little better and wiser for understanding what is troubling me. And if that doesn't bring any results at the time, then there is something that can be said for a good nap before trying again. Even a nap or a good night's sleep can sometimes dispel it enough to see a clearer picture.
  3. Yep. I'm single. I really have to do something about that someday.
  4. The idea of any language is communication. The more needlessly elaborate communication becomes, the less a person communicates. It's not a question of sounding too smart or dumbing down what someone says. It's about using the right wording and phrasing for the right situation. Knowing your audience and speaking on a level where you both understand eachother clearly. It is a major foundation of intelligent use of language. Just because someone uses fancy vocabulary or elaborate phrasing, doesn't automatically make them a master of the language. Or superior. Knowledgeable, perhaps. But knowledge that is useless if not applied correctly. It's no good someone saying, "Well they should bring themselves up to my level! I shouldn't have to dumb down what I say just because they are too stupid to understand." That is just arrogant and only shows off their own lack of knowledge in regards to how language and communication are applied. An intelligent communicator would know what words to use for what situation or audience. They understand that people have different levels of communicating that vary in countless different ways. Any writer or speech maker knows of the rule: "Know your audience". I know a lot of fancy different words. But because I don't use those words or any elaborate phrasing that goes with them, doesn't mean I'm dumbing anything down. I'm merely choosing to use the right words for the right situation and audience.
  5. If the Earth was hollow, it would be able to float in the bath like a hollow plastic duck.
  6. In a few minutes time. Sleep. Lovely-lovely sleep.
  7. More of a career plan than a survival plan for me. I'd travel from location to location, clearing out the undead where ever they may be, restoring the dignity of the corpses that were once the loved ones of others. Surviving generations and their children would tell stories and sing songs of a mythical mad woman that became the fear of the dead. Even better if I fought them with a flaming sword of some description. Well, it's either that or play Boggle.
  8. Good morning one and all! :kirin:

I just had a pretty rough start to my day. Something I ate yesterday obviously disagreed with my stomach while I slept and I just had to vomit. Isn't that lovely? One of the least elegant things a person can do. Sticking your face in a place that was not designed for the face, making noises that could summon demons as the contents of your stomach evacuate from your mouth. Not to mention the whole build up leading to it that has a similar feeling of kneeling before the executioner's block before having your head cut off.

I feel better now though. Just not a pretty way to start the day.

Anyway. Here's hoping your day gets off to a more elegant start than mine. :muffins:

  9. "Should I buy the mini skirts now or wait until the beginning of May and get them with the other stuff?"
  10. It's been a while since I last ate cereal. But when I do eat cereal, I usually gor for cornflakes or Rice Krispies. No milk. Just dry. Sometimes I would dump some sugar on them.
  11. I had a couple of seagulls who kept visiting my house each day when I lived in Wales. They would sit on the garage roof, looking in through the kitchen window and calling for food. They always came back at the same times each day because they knew we would feed them.
  12. I'm a very picky eater. I'm the sort who gets nervous about upcoming dinner parties at someone elses house. That conflict of not wanting to eat things you dislike and not wanting to offend your host who really put the effort into it all. I mean what is the best social etiquette in that situation. Tell them no. Or try not to offend them by eating and then throwing up on the dinner table? Tough call.
  13. Whenever I do take showers, I usually take long showers. But I rarely use showers and take baths instead. Showers run up the electric bill quite a bit and I can't seem to get as clean under the shower. Or at least I don't feel as clean. Plus, you can't really use a rubber ducky in a shower.
  14. I can't remember the last time I had a tan. But then again, I'm nocturnal so you can't exactly get a moon tan. No special bottles of moon tan lotion or anything like that to protect you from the moon's rays.
  15. Still none. I sure hope whoever my first relationship is with has the stamina. I have a lot of time to catch up on.
  16. I used to be a moderator on a couple or so other forums. I would do a good job, just as long as I get to be the good cop. I'm not the type to flat out ban or reprimand people. I have to thoroughly investigate things before I make a decision on such matters. Organising and tidying up, I would be obsessive with.
  17. No politics or other forms of social napalm. No leaving random unidentified stains on the bathroom towels. No randomly dumping unrinsed cutlery and plates in the kitchen sink. No dumping rubbish in an already full bin and leaving it for the next person to empty. No abandoning microwave accidents. If what you put in their explodes. You be the one to clean it up. No leaving the toilet seat up. It's not a bloody public restroom! Also flush for Celestia's sake! No random killing of bugs, insects or spiders. Put them outside. The floors and walls are not for decorating with the internal mush of critters.
  18. It might be approaching midnight my end, but I've decided to cook burgers and watch one of my favourite movies of all time. Drop Dead Fred! :kirin:

    1. Rebel the Wolfgirl

      Rebel the Wolfgirl

Drop Dead Fred is...basically me. :muffins:

  19. Never had to do that. Our PE lessons just consisted of dumping us outside in freezing cold weather, wearing nothing but t-shirts and shorts and making us play sports. Which I hated. Well I say hated. What I meant is that I loathed it. Well I say loathed. But what I really mean is that I would rather have been trapped on a spaceship while being hunted down by a hostile alien entity with more teeth than the entire Osmond family.
  20. I've recently been trying to get into the habit of wearing my glasses all the time (which I'm supposed to be doing). In the past, I've only been wearing them while watching TV or if I'm out and about in public when I really need to see what's up ahead.
  21. Go in like the US marshals. We lose the vaccine, I'm sending your butt to the Mayor to explain why he and his three daughters won't get their pills this month!
  22. Persistant Kirin boops for @Sparklefan1234 straight from the Peaks of Peril.
