So apparently the CPU wasn't actually compatible even though it's the same socket and power draw as the old one (thanks, Dell), but luckily it was only $8 so I didn't lose much. Supposedly a Q9400 is verified to work on my computer and they're roughly the same price, so I'll pick one of those up when I get the money and hope the higher 95W power draw combined with the GPU won't be a problem for the crappy power supply. The GPU does what it needs to and the SSD works great, but being stuck with two cores at 1.8 GHz sucks. The E2160 is not a good CPU.
EDIT: I tried watching a YouTube video, and apparently 1080p videos actually run fine, as long as I don't touch the mouse. As soon as the cursor moves the video starts stuttering. Never had that problem before
I guess that puts how terrible the CPU is into perspective.
