Body hair on guys, what are your thoughts?
The Historian replied to SolidTwilight's topic in General Discussion
I don't like it much on anyone, regardless of sex or gender. I especially don't like it on myself... -
Almond because I'm lactose intolerant.

Mid-30s and nope. Not happened. I don't human good.

If there's a direction, I probably venture that way. I just call myself bi since it's easier than remembering a lot of fluff. Simple fact is I like boobs and dongs. Pretty damn simple.

Borderlands 3 is Timed Exclusive to Epic Game Store on PC
The Historian replied to a topic in Media Discussion
I knew the egs was bad, but holy shit, that is low level garbage tier work. Did they hire a bunch of high school coders looking in books to write this shit? Nothing against high school coders looking in books of course, everyone starts somewhere. For a professional company, they're not doing their best to actually, you know, compete. 2K can suck it. I don't really see the issue here. The games have a unified aesthetic and the graphics themselves reinforce the grungy world that Borderlands really is. Not every game needs perfectly crisp, clean graphics. The focus on graphics needs to stop anyway. Focus on aesthetics, which Borderlands 3 does very well, even if the graphics themselves are a bit lackluster. -
Borderlands 3 is Timed Exclusive to Epic Game Store on PC
The Historian replied to a topic in Media Discussion
Many games are 'exclusive' to Steam, but not because they're locked into it. It's just most convenient. If they said "STEAM ONLY" and didn't allow anyone else to sell it, even places that just give you keys, I would have a similar reaction. I wouldn't even mind 'epic games' having Borderlands 3 if their store wasn't so terrible and insecure. When I first opened my EG account to use their crappy launcher, it got compromised every day for a week because their security is arse. Anecdotal sure, but does not give me a good feeling. Especially since I can't two factor it. -
Borderlands 3 is Timed Exclusive to Epic Game Store on PC
The Historian replied to a topic in Media Discussion
Just remember that EGS has the following: no 2FA, no support forums, no buyer protections, no reviews and you get to pay a fee that Valve (and other platforms) just eat to keep your business. Epic can't even claim "oh we're new." No, that has nothing to do with it. It was a sloppy product cobbled together because ZOMG FORTNITE (which sucks shit through a straw no less) and did nothing else with it. There is zero reason to use the "epic games store." I won't even capitalize that now. Not worth the effort or dignification. I sent Gearbox a message stating that, because of this decision, I would not be purchasing Borderlands 3. I recommend everyone else do the same. Vote with your wallet and do not buy it! I want the game, but my principles are worth more than a game. -
Borderlands 3 is Timed Exclusive to Epic Game Store on PC

I already have the EG Launcher, even though it's a shitpile and I want nothing more to do with it. I only use it to manage UDK installs. Suffice to say, I'm hugely disappointed by this move. I am baffled that 2K would even allow this decision with the poor reputation the EG Store currently has. I'd be less upset if it went to the Microsoft Store. I might not even buy the game now as much as I want it. Might as well vote with my wallet... -
Only if I need to touch something a sick person touched. Fomites? No thanks.

Both have their upsides, and downsides of course. I like both but it depends on the person or character. Some are just plain both.

I can't find a suitable image but I'm in the process of doing that in real life. Maybe a real picture sometime. :p XD

I currently own and drive a 2015 Nissan Altima. I need it for my long ass drive to work. 45 miles one way.

What happens when you stay up for too long?
The Historian replied to Vicke's topic in General Discussion
Last time I was up for three days without any sleep, I started hallucinating. Not just hallucinating, but hallucinating cats walking around my basement. No, I didn't go to bed right then either. I kept seeing weird shit for a while. -
Sega Genesis/Mega Drive Mini Coming September 2019!
The Historian replied to YoshiAngemon's topic in Media Discussion
Nintendo started a fad. A PS Classic and now this? This is getting silly. Can't say I'm particularly excited for this one. Left out a ton of good Genesis games anyway. I'll emulate with KegaFusion and play whatever I want. -
general media Why are there so many crazy shippers (people who pair characters together)?
The Historian replied to AlicornSpell's topic in Media Discussion
Hence why I stated, quite clearly, that is was a very dedicated, and very loud, faction of tumblrinas who do that. I know it's not everyone, just a small, but excessively vocal, subset. -
general media Why are there so many crazy shippers (people who pair characters together)?
The Historian replied to AlicornSpell's topic in Media Discussion
That's tumblr-tards leaking. There's a faction of tumblrinas who just can't wait to tell you about how gay they are and how gay they're day was and how gay this and that and the other. Usually, you see the most insane ships from them. -
I've found that ZSNES is more accurate than Snes9x. At least, it plays games better. Snes9x is nice but ZSNES still works like a champ.
-
Emulation is functionally impossible to achieve "100% perfection." You're emulating hardware with software, which isn't always simple and will inevitably lead to inaccuracy. If perfect emulation existed, there would be emulators for every system under the sun, even the most esoteric ones. Crazy shit like the Bandai Playdia and Bandai Pippin do not have emulators and will eventually be lost to the sands of time. But, using the Super NES example, it's pretty dang close. I haven't found a game yet that hasn't played well in at least one of the major emulators. I usually use ZSNES and Snes9x, but others do exist. In either case, Super NES games generally run very, very well. 99% accuracy is pretty goddamn good as far as I'm concerned.

You have to be selective with old PC hardware. If you get it complete in the box, usually a good chance it will be functional and well cared for. Some repairs are easier than others, but you gotta be careful.

What do you want to learn in the future?
The Historian replied to Dsanders's topic in General Discussion
It wouldn't be new, but re-learning my lost programming knowledge would be nice. As would learning a few new languages, mostly Ruby though so I can write Shopify apps. -
general media Who are your favorite video game developers?
The Historian replied to DivineMist1000's topic in Media Discussion

sports What sports did you play when you were younger?
The Historian replied to MysticShine's topic in General Discussion
I've been a bowler for the last 27 years. Only sport I'm any good at and I still have over ~$1200 worth of equipment. -
What is your opinion on Crossdressing?
The Historian replied to Colon Leftbracket's topic in General Discussion
Normal is what excessively boring people cling to in order to remain partially relevant in a world leaving them behind. It's an arbitrary line drawn in the sand by the most dull, lifeless people to live.- 149 replies
