I'm thinking about starting a forum roleplay with some tabletop mechanics, so the characters will have some numerical attributes and skills, and the success or failure of their actions will be determined by dice rolls. Here is the premise:
SpoilerChampions of Celestia
Welcome to Medieval Equestria. It's 500 years since Luna's banishment, so we're in the middle of the long period of Celestia's sole reign. Despite the stable government and lack of major villain attacks, there are still some issues the princess needs to take care of. And she wants YOU to help her with that.
The system used will be very simple and created by me (basically a modified version of Tails of Equestria). I'll take care of all the game mechanics, and I'll tell you all you need to know to create and level up your characters. I will be the game master only, so I won't be playing as a party member.
I'm just testing the waters here, so please tell me what you think about this idea. If there is some interest in this kind of RP, I'll make a proper post in the RP planning section later, probably at the beginning of the next year.

Consider me mildly interested...
I have never done table-top stuff before. Seen a few story-time videos about it on YouTube. If I was using my main OC, Samurai Equine, I can say that his alignment be lawful good. As a samurai, he is basically the asian equivalent to a royal guard. If Celestia commands something, he will obey those commands to the bitter end. Any judgement calls of deviations would be in service to those commands and whatever Celestia would want.
I would like to know more of the mechanics. Also... 500 years. Is this during or before the time of Twilight Sparkle?

1. Alignment won't be a part of the game mechanics, you just express your alignment through your actions.
2. You will have 4 attributes (Strength, Agility, Intellect, Charm), and up to 6 skills (which you choose yourself, except one depending on your race). The value of attributes and skills ranges from 3 to 10. During the game, you will take tests, by rolling a die with a number of sides equal to that value (d3 to d10), and if you reach the value required by the difficulty of the test, you succeed. Also you have 2 more statistics: Stamina (the initial value is Strength + Agility) and Willpower (Intellect + Charm), that serve as "hit points" that you can lose due to various events during the game. Between adventures, you will regain Stamina and Willpower, and you will be able to level up your character by increasing the attribute and skill values. That's pretty much it, I don't want the mechanics to be too complex so we can focus on the story instead of "doing the math".
3. It's halfway between the banishment of Luna (and other numerous events that happened around that time), and the time of Twilight Sparkle (and other events of FiM). I think that period, when seemingly nothing interesting happened, should be explored more. Also I wanted the technology to be at medieval level, so things like trains don't exist yet.
4. Samurai Equine is very welcome to join, I thought about a character like that when I got the idea for this RP. I need at least 2 players to make it work, but the more the merrier, we'll see how many people are interested when I post an actual thread in the planning section.

@PawelS Sounds good to me. Let me know if you get more people interested in the RP.

Big thanks to all my friends who posted on my profile, wishing me a happy birthday:
I had a good one, as far as my birthdays go (I don't really celebrate them that much).
(Now I feel bad that I don't keep track of people's birthdays here...)

Just realized today was your birthday when I saw your status update.
Trust me, its always nice to have folks acknowledge your existence, even if they're strangers. I haven't known you that well, but I appreciate your insight, experience and wisdom on this sight. Also just having a friendly helpful person like you around is always welcome.

🎵 Applejack doesn't fly
Applejack doesn't touch the sky
So I think she’s just an earthen horse
Not like pegasi or unicorns 🎵(I'm not the author of the lyrics above, it's a slightly altered version of one of the comments below this video, which is one of my favorite installments of Friendship is Musical. It mysteriously disappeared from Tridashie's channel, but luckily it appeared elsewhere.)

Underrated Pony Music #46 (I forgot about it yesterday)
The scene at the end is not from MLP, but the picture is, so I think it counts as "pony music".
