  1. @Latecomer Interesting... that would certainly explain why only Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, and Rarity show up in it. XD
  2. Another thing I like as far as reordering is to put "It's About Time" before "The Return of Harmony" and "A Canterlot Wedding". Why so many powerful villains in Equestria all of a sudden? Cerberus wasn't guarding the gates of Tartarus for a full day!
  3. The biggest reorder for me is the Spike arc. I imagine that he was fairly cloistered with Twilight, and that "Spike At Your Service" was one of his first times outside alone. As such, I like to put episodes where he's mysteriously missing before that episode in viewing order. For his arc I like: Friendship is Magic (he starts crushing on Rarity) Spike at Your Service (he stops being so much of a homebody) Green Isn't Your Color (he's still shy about crushing on Rarity) Secret of My Excess (he acts on his crush) A Dog and Pony Show (he's still attracted to Rarity, but no longer quite as obsessed)
  4. When I read Sunshine Sprinkles' Chronology, I was struck by how powerful rearranging episodes can be as a way to add to the context and enjoyment of the show. Simply by putting it earlier, Sunshine transformed "Spike At Your Service" from one of my least favorite episodes (arguably an outright character assassination of Spike), into one that was legitimately enjoyable. Recently, I've been playing around with the order of the episodes, especially with an eye on making more consistent character arcs. I'll post my thoughts below, but also want to know others' thoughts on this. Are there episodes you like to watch together a lot? Episodes you wish had been in a different order? The show is over now, so everything is on the table, and available for reinterpretation.
  5. I liked this and further emulated it by splitting up portions the timeline into adjusted seasons for easier viewing. I thought I'd post it as a sort of reply. Main consideration were breaking at significant points and keeping screentime fairly consistent. Year 1 Summer: Friendship is Magic - Family Appreciation Day (21 episodes) Year 1 Fall/Winter: Lesson Zero - The Best Night Ever (23 episodes) Year 1 Spring: The Return of Harmony - Equestria Girls (18 episodes + 1 movie ~ 21 episodes) Year 2 Summer: Season 4 + Rainbow Rocks Year 2 Fall/Winter/Spring: Season 5 + Friendship Games Year 3 Summer/Fall: On Your Marks - The Saddle Row Review (20 episodes + 1 movie ~ 23 episodes) Year 3 Winter/Spring: A Hearth's Warming Tale - Fame and Misfortune (22 episodes, counting the 44 minute EqG specials as double episodes) Year 4 Summer/Fall: Hard to Say Anything - My Little Pony: The Movie (15 episodes + 1 movie ~ 20 episodes) I haven't bothered renaming Season 8, yet but I guess it would be Year 4/5 Winter/Spring/Summer/Fall/Winter/Spring? Depending on how the chronology of season 9 comes out, I may just call it 'Year 5' or something. @Starshine Sprinkles Love the chronology, hope you'll add Season 9 in due time. Thanks so much!
