I think most people who take selfies and share photos often don't think about it in advance. They just do it without a single thought other than "it's fun" or "everyone else is doing it".

Me? I was an 80's and 90's kid. When the internet came around, you couldn't take TWO STEPS without seeing a bunch of PSA's telling you how dangerous it is to put your information on the net, be careful who you trust, etc. All of that got drilled into my head, and it's why I'm super paranoids about sharing too much info with the casual crowd.

But I think, as long as you aren't sharing things like your personal address or phone number, you'll be fine. 

It's entirely up to you. If you're not comfortable, then don't. Don't feel like you have to just because other people are doing it.

Same. And honestly, it’s not sensationalized. There ARE actual bad people on the Internet that can and will use your personal info to hurt you.

Are you LIKELY to have it happen? No. But it can happen, especially to children that don’t know how to protect themselves. That’s why I didn’t put my image online until I was an adult. And even then, I don’t do it often.
