  1. Whats your favorite pony con promo? - Does not have to be one you have been too - The promo can be from any pony con in the world I like the babs con promo, also the "shiny happiness" promo
  2. do people still buy things over the phone?

These days, it's actually happening more often than you think.

I would never do that myself... Too many telemarketers are dishonest with their claims. >_>

  3. Are lunchables only for kids?

    1. Samurai Equine

Heck no! My mother's had them for lunch plenty of times, and she's in her 60's. :ButtercupLaugh:

@Muffinnz you have GOT to stop worrying about what others think is “for kids”.

Part of being an adult is not caring about peer pressure. If it’s your money, buy all the freakin lunchables you want.

    3. Beauregard

      Beauregard

      I've never had them. :worry:

      Stay cool!

  5. Somebody once told me that the word centre relates specifically to a public social place or gathering and the word center relates specifically the the middle of a shape. But I cant find anywhere on the internet to support this. Besides the difference that they are British and American spellings.

What you describe is the way that British people use the words. Centre is for something like a leisure centre. and the center of a circle is the middle of the circle.

I would never make the mistake of confusing those two since that's the way we have been taught in school.

I think its that way, I guess I was taught that way so I think its that way.

(I was and am still being taught in a school with british English).

@Princess of Hearts 💛🧡 Really? :wau: Based on what I could find, they're supposed to be pretty much interchangeable...

I'm more familiar with American English myself, so I'd use "center" in any case... But the Cambridge Dictionary gives "the middle point or part" as one of the meanings for "centre".

      https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/centre

"Center" is specifically mentioned as the "US spelling of centre".

      https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/center

I can find several references to the "centre of the circle", though people do tend to misspell a lot of things. But even a Newcastle University page uses that spelling.

      https://internal.ncl.ac.uk/ask/numeracy-maths-statistics/core-mathematics/geometry/geometry-of-a-circle.html

So it seems to me that both are acceptable in either meaning, just with regional differences. Though I know there are some cases of both spellings being used with different meanings – apparently a lot of theater enthusiasts like to use "theater" in reference to the place and "theatre" in reference to the art form, for example. :dash:

  6. Once I learned that if you shame someone for mispronouncing something you are really shaming the for reading a lot

or does it really mean they don't read enough?

I like to believe in the first one more

    1. TotallyNotNyx

      TotallyNotNyx

I mean, I read a lot, yet still mess up on pronunciation, so I guess its the first one.

It's cause I do more reading and typing that actual speaking, so sometimes I mess up my speech

  7. I say some words differently then others despite that my home is in America, although I've been outside the US for really long periods of time before. I say kilometer like (kilo meter) with the "o" pronounced as "ow" and the first "e" in meter as a long "ee" I used to spell "theater" like "theatre" but I still sometimes do despite living in America Also sometimes center like "centre" but not always I pronounce "aunt" as "aant" not the one that means a insect despite living in America I have a hard time pronouncing jewelry Everyone pronounces envelope as (an-vol-ope) I say with the "e" sound at the beginning because that is just how it is written Am I just stupid?
  8. I just sat on my glasses and bent them... at least they do free repairs for anybody. Even if that doesn't work I got myself a warranty when I got them.

It's lucky that you can get them repaired for free.

That reminds me of the time I accidentally put a marching euphonium down on my childhood friend's glasses in in high school.

I like MLP the way it is. There are enough shows with a lot of violence and stuff like that, I don't watch MLP for that. :)

  10. I opened up my clash of clans account for the first time in like 5 years. Things changed.

  11. Why do people put "~" at the end of sentences? I know it means "about" but about doesn't really fit when used this way.

    1. Samurai Equine

      Samurai Equine

Really? I had no idea that symbol actually meant something.
To me, it's just a slightly more playful/sassy version of "..."
If I say "To be continued...", it comes of as ominous. But if I say "To be continued~" it comes off as playful, as if something good might happen later.

I live in Texas, they show us stuff like this when we're kids. I do enjoy restoration videos, but I prefer restored electronics, tools, and toys. :adorkable:

It is going to take a lot longer than a lot of people think it would. So many seem to think we can just magically go back to normal and return to life as it was, but this pandemic has changed the landscape of how things work. It isn't going to ever be as simple as "reopening everything". I wish it could be, but doing so would only start the cycle over again.

  15. There are hidden advanced setting options on phones that aren't too useful to the average user No, I don't think ill really need to enable them right now. And if someone were to get into my phone I wouldn't want that feature pre-enabled so they can destroy my phone from the inside. You need to put in a pin to enable.
  16. should I change my username? Idk, i kind of find it unique when someone doesn't have a name history symbol next to their username. Also the name will be slight off centered

    1. Early Sunsets

      Early Sunsets

It's up to you. If you like your name, there's not much point in changing it.

Other than for joke names, I haven't changed mine since I made an OC I really liked.

  22. Diet drinks are meant to reduce calories but contain artificial ingredients to make them taste sweet. Are they really any healthier? Do they help weight loss? Do you drink any regularly? Examples: 1. iced tea vs diet iced tea 2. lemonade vs diet lemonade 3. coke vs diet coke etc.
