  1. I think when all is said and done, everyone enjoys Equestria Girls much more than Friendship is Magic.

There's a difference between ending better and being better, though. (And comparing an actual ending to a non-ending is also a bit...)

I think you might be a bit off. It's true that EQG has less big controversies (since it was one, of course - and don't forget Anon-a-Miss) but there are plenty of people who just don't follow it at all. On the flip side, I don't you'll find many who are into it but not it's parent show.

  3. Cozy Glow theory!

Cozy was born into a family where the parents were both unicorns and she had older siblings that were also all unicorns and she was the only pegasi and also the youngest. Cozy's parents would take the children regularly on raids and other illegal stuff, using lies, cuteness, and magic to get what they wanted, and always thought it was so fun, raising all of their children to also think this stuff was fun. Since Cozy is a pegasus, nopony in her family thought she would be able to do raids and that other stuff nearly as well, so she always had the least important things to do, and sometimes got left behind entirely. Her siblings always had that sense of superiority over her, and Cozy got frustrated because she knew her siblings and her parents were having fun, and she wasn't able to go when she knew she could help so much. So, she hatched a plan. Her parents told her all about Twilight and her friends and how they defeated other villains, and Cozy knew that Ponyville would easily fall for her acts, especially since she didn't have magic. How was she a threat? Then, she could get close and figure out a way to have lots of fun while never being suspected. So, she snuck out and went to Ponyville. When she went to the School of Friendship, she realized she was going to need some help getting information, so she set up an act in the hope that somepony would feel sorry for the poor little filly crying all alone and come help her. The CMCs came and helped her, and she learned about the magic of friendship through them, and how powerful it was, and she decided, "Hey, I'm really good at tricking ponies into thinking I'm a sweet little filly, I can use that to get me lots of friends."  She began to think about how fun it would be to have that much power, but she knew she was just a pegasus, and even if she had all the friends in Equestria, alicorns and unicorns would still physically be more powerful. So she stuck around in the School of Friendship, gaining friends, building trust with the professors and head mare and student counselor, and she constructed a plan. "Unicorns and alicorns are only powerful because of magic, which is what other creatures also use as power, and if I got rid of all the magic in Equestria, and I continued with my original plan, I'd be the most powerful being in Equestria! But, I don't know how to do that, and I doubt any of Twilight's books would have it, and even if they do, I can't waste time, and I can't ask Twilight or she'd get suspicious. I need somepony with experience in magic." She thought of Tirek first, and started sending him questions with letters, and she was very happy when he answered them, so she sent him some more, until she had all the info she needed. All she needed now was a place to put the artifacts where nopony but her would know. She saw that the Student 6 were close friends, and wondered if she could do something to make their friendship=power go away, so she decided to create a little tension among them. Then when they found the underground chamber, she knew that was the perfect place for her artifacts, but when the Young 6 mentioned telling the professors, Cozy needed to stop them or she'd need to find another spot and wait even longer for her plan, so she improvised a quick excuse for her to not want them to tell the professor, and the excuse worked. Now everything was ready.

So what did they think happened to her the first time? Did they not know she was in Tartarus? And what did they think about the mysterious force that stole their magic?

Interesting. So a whole clan of troublemakers, but none on as great a scale as their runt? I wonder how they reacted to her big scheme.

  6. A lot of good shows wished they had a good, satisfying ending. Those for Lost, How I Met Your Mother, Seinfeld, Game of Thrones, Teen Titans are all really controversial for at least one big reason. FIM’s The Last Problem wraps it all up on a very high, emotional note.

    1. Latecomer

      Latecomer

Indeed. It may not be the best possible ending, but it was good enough, where so many other shows have failed. Better than I really hoped, really, given the general quality of this season.

  7. Am i the only one who thinks that paywalls need to stop existing?

    1. Latecomer

      Latecomer

What kind of paywall? Because owning something and charging others for access is pretty basic capitalism.

  8. People are saying all good things must come to an end, and while that's true for a lot of things, try telling Sesame Street that.

    1. Latecomer

      Latecomer

True enough. But look at it this way - My Little Pony isn't ending. Only Friendship is Magic is. And if other incarnations of MLP hadn't ended, FIM would never have had a chance to begin.

  9. I know I'm gonna get some hate for this but I actually despise VP Pence more than I do Trump. If Trump ends up getting removed from office, Pence would def be the worst president we've ever had and he's probably Indiana's worst governor. It was a huge mistake for him to be VP.

  11. Hot take: Look I like Perfect Pear as much as the next guy, but constantly seeing everyone act like it's a television masterpiece, acting like it's better than sex, it starts to suffer from hype backlash for me

      Maybe high art is overrated?

But seriously, there's a bit of substance there but it's mostly just heartcatching sugar.

Yeah, that's the other side of things - quality. But that matters more to us viewers than Hasbro.

If everyone else thinks of it that way, don't you like it less than the next guy?

Well, not if the next guy's me, because i never got why everyone thought it was so amazing either. Sure, longstanding questions + powerful emotions + big-name guests, but that doesn't make it the BEST EPISODE EVER like you'd think form hearing some people talk.

Yeah - G5 will mean a change of design that would be pretty difficult to fit into the show.

Well yeah - they're the exact some archetype more or less, but Chloe is full-time while DT was only recurring.

A stealth sequel would arguably be worse than a straight one, unless it's ambiguous or deniable - and how would you do that?

  18. So, just wanted to point out that Pokémon are, indeed, the animals of that world. You can eat them, they eat each other (and conceivably easily eat humans too) and they work just like animals do on a biological basis.

Just dined at a top tier dining facility in the beautiful city of Lumiose in Kalos. (basically France, yes, I know. I am a millionaire celebrity trainer!...in Pokémon.) Several of the dishes are just actual pokemon served up, so we know they're edible. Which is something I guess the world has known since the Slowpoke Tail item. But once, they have the liddle Skiddo goat trot out to hand you your dish of the cheese made from its milk! So cute!!

And again, they refer to your battling prowess as like "A Pyroar hunting a Bunnelby."

So yeah. This world doesn't bat an eye at ten year old, wild beast tamers!

    1. Latecomer

      Latecomer

      Yeah - isn't it fascinating?

I wonder what farms are like - do the cattle get to battle for their lives?

Well that latter part is certainly telling, but the morality of the bombing has been debated a lot without a real answer. And a cold war is arguably better than a hot one.
