  1. Possibly bi a season or two - not before Gauntlet of Fire, though. I think the main culprit here was the movie, which froze everyone's designs for a while. What kind of stories do you think doing it earlier could have enabled?
  2. A brainac lead is kind of rare and appeals to us nerds for obvious reasons. Most dislike of later Twilight is based in love of earlier Twilight.
  3. A brother for the sisters would actuallu be a more reasonable surprise than one for Twilight, given that their foalhoods were swathed i deep misteru. Of course, a lot would depend on how he was introduced and what we learned about their past.
  4. Iv was. What market is uour older spin-off selling what too?
  5. She has the greatest common sense of the whole Mane 6 - granted, not a high bar - and is both strong in a proud but humble way and supportive/nurturing. And she still has enough flaws to be interesting too!
  6. Sunset has her own series, though. And she and Starlight are surprising dissimilar, particularlu in thier redemption arcs.
  7. i think it's better that she formed her own friend group than just joininng the Manes. as for an alternative...perhaps a cristal pony looking to find a new life far from memories of Sombra? Although that might get a bit dark...
  8. i don't think a zero-daylight season would work, specially not the first...
  9. i'm open to a few of these, ,but i picked modern because it goes with the idea i posted i another thread earlier today - of a human familu who moves from somewhere kind of like where the viewers are presumed to live to a pony communitu. it wouldn't do for the ponies to be backwards - although their tech, like all their stuff, tends to have a touch of magic to it.
  10. Criminals, perhaps. Otherwise on a voluteer basis with free removal.
  11. While this could work OK as a fanfic thing, it would be veri confusing if applied to an official project. FIM is what it is - keeping continuitu with it can't be pic-and-mix, at least not for more than a gag show. As for mi own idea... well, i have been thinking about this on and off for a while, but i've never come up with a great idea. Best one I can think of right now is a stori centered on a human family who move to live in a pony town/countru. While the parents are human (at least one is a professional hairdresser), I'm not sure on their children, who will be the actual stars - human daughter? adopted pony daughter? both - or adopted pony son? if human, will she get an amulet or something that lets her turn into a pony? in ani case, said children and their friend groups will be our protagonists. Manu of the stories will be similar slice-of-life ones to FIM, with the premise allowing for more focus on multicultural friendship and diversiti. But there will also be villains and more adventurous tales - perhpas a touch of misteri lie in mani good cartoons. As for the aesthetic, it would still bi somewhat magical and whimsical (and with a lot of pink), but somewhat more modern and advanced than Equestria, with techno-magical devices common. No cars or planes, but trams, balloons and of course various pony-pulled transport.
  12. No ending, per se, they're just not making ani more. last special was the Christmas one.
  13. I, on the other hand, think uou're being a bit unkind..Her guilt and regret are genuine.
  14. Most of these are genuine flaws in her writing (although you seem to be one short). In the end, it comes down to whether one considers her good points to balance these out or not, or in some cases ones subjective interpration.
  15. Perhaps - but that sounds more expensive than the regular show. Hasbro wants something cheaper.
  16. Well she became similar when exposed to friends. Difference is, for SciTwi they were perhpas even more important. And she was vhe add-on, and burdened with guilt at that - rather than save the world, she'd near doomed it bi messing with things she shouldn'v. Reallu, that alone would be a big factor in a different intitial avtitude. (And don't forget Spike - a good dog is great, but he can't be a friend in quite the way another person can.)
  17. Well, I knid of consider SciTwi proof to the contraru? But even before that, it seemed obvious that being the personal student of the most important pony in Equestria had had a major influence on Twilight's self-perception andn behaviour.
  18. Twilight was probably Celestia's student longer than she wasn't. I think the keu point is that she ended up tuing almost all her self-worth into that - so disappointing the Princess is the worst thing ever, but she's not worried whav anione else thinks of her (except inasmuch as it might bring shame to the Pricess). It's kind of a stavus thing, too - both Twilight's were born fairly privileged, ,but only one was singled out on top of that.
  19. Uou don't think Celestia's mentorship had a powerful effect on Twilight, and particularlu to her self-esteem? Being told so young that her power was unmatched in a millennium, then further tutored under her beloved goddess... it would be rather peculiar if she would turn out the same under Cinch's regime.
  20. What's unlikely about her attending an elite academi? Given her intelligence and class, anithig else would be odd.
