  1. I really want to say that Celestia is a better ruler, but everything throughout (and especially at the end) of the series points to Twilight being a much better leader than Celestia, and that's why I don't like this whole thing about "student surpasses teacher", because in less than 5 years, Twilight did more than Celestia in 1000 years, and all she needed to do it was to have 5 friends...

  2. I don't think they stop doing what their cutie marks say their talents are, Celestia's talent is controlling the sun, and Luna's talent is controlling the moon. Those are her own talents, in the case of Celestia, it is what she does in addition to being a ruler, in the case of Luna, as shown in A Royal Problem, she has no duty as a princess other than controlling the moon, walking in the dream world it was like a '' hobby '', it's not necessary at all, maybe Luna continues doing it or not, what I mean is that all that thing about ''princesses retire and give all their powers to Twilight '' It's ridiculous and irrational to me, Twilight is crowned ruler of Equestria for her ''leadership abilities'' and for the times she saved Equestria, and because being ruler of Equestria she would continue to form alliances with the other kingdoms, practically spread the magic of friendship around the world, in addition to run the School of Magic for Gifted Unicorns, why should she now also have powers to control the sun and moon (and also walk in the dream world)? Anyway, I don't think there is anypony  than Luna that can walk the dream world.

  3. I don't dislike the other races, but I dislike HOW these races were treated. Apparently, all races needed help from the ponies and to solve their problems, Dragons? Too greedy, they need someone approved by ponies, for the benefit of ponies, to lead them. Changelings? let a pony tell them what to do (sorry Glimmy, it's not your fault being part of a racist society) so they can prosper as a society. Yaks? They have been isolated for 1000 years, they are so primitive that all they need are ponies to share. Hippogriffs? Let them a few years underwater, until a pony princess comes to steal their magical pearl with the intention of saving her kingdom. Griffins? a completely devastated society that all they need is friendship, and beware, finding a friendly griffin is rare!
Then send them all to a school to indoctrinate them.

Practically, ponies are the only stable society, and everyone else is there, waiting for a friendly pony to save them from misery.

^ How long before something like this happens? When the mane five are only present to serve the plot as magical batteries to those who are more important than they are?

And that was exactly what happened in the first two episodes of season 9 and The Ending of The End, ReMane 5 became a magical battery for Twilight, after the elements of harmony were destroyed, only for Twilight to use that power. and get all the credit for it.

  5. I think Sunset should go back to Equestria, I just don't see her staying there after graduation. Being a principal is not something that fits her character, if we assume that she is 18 (obviously older in pony) it would take a long period of time for her to run a school (about 20 years or more) ), also Celestia and Luna retiring to leave their position to a student ?, That would be uncomfortable, generally the Principals of schools are teachers who have been teaching for decades (or at least where I live) and that simply does not fit with Sunset. She is also not interested in science like Sci-Twi, and I don't think she wants to go to a university.

  6. Young six are just alternative versions of Mane Six, I guess Sandbar's talent must be similar to Fluttershy's, he is good with animals, maybe with turtles or aquatic animals, or as someone else mentioned, it must be something related to ocean. A Cutie Mark is a mix between talent (or specialty) and personality, so it must be something related to the ocean and turtles represent his personality.

Regarding The Last Problem, he is there only because he is Yona's husband (or whatever), that does not mean that he works in the boutique specifically, he could have his own work and he only goes there to accompany Yona.

I'd say Starlight, but I think I'm being partial to my favorite pony, she learned identifiable lessons that you can apply in the real world, like when she learned that she shouldn't sell her friend's valuable and important things, when she learned to communicate better with her father, when she learned to establish rules and separate her work hours and free hours, when she learned that friends are not always the best option for a job, even if you want to be close to her, and most importantly, when she learned to respect other ponies.

For me a good role model is not the perfect pony that respects others, who knows when to say or do something, who is kind to everyone and has perfect morals, a good role model is the pony who learns to do it .

Honestly, while I like Twilight, I think that what the show has done with (to) her is a bit disappointing. While you could interpret her story as "even a bookworm can learn to become a leader", at the same time it is possible to interpret it as "being a bookworm is bad, you have to get a career that involves interacting with lots of people and no longer have time for books".

It kind-of becomes a "normalization"-type story (I am sure there is a proper name for that, but I do not know it), something that obviously goes against the moral of "be yourself". I do not know if this is off-topic here or not though.

This, and the rest of what you've said is how I feel about the past few seasons, the series' concept about magic and friendship, and Twilight. They made Twilight an outgoing character, when you can't change nature, and her nature is introverted, but she was acting as an extrovert in season 9, and all of this 'friendship is magic' went from a metaphor to how your friendship with your friends can be magical, to be literal, and friendship now seemed like a weapon of defense, and Cozy Glow was right in saying 'friendship is power', because  Twilight gained more magic power as the series progressed, and this power was closely related to 'friendship', and this 'friendship' is the reason why Twilight was crowned ruler of Equestria. Also, this whole friendship thing seems to be a mold, a doctrine, or whatever. Let's compare Sunset to Twilight, Sunset was a 'lost case' because she didn't accomplish the requirements of Celestia's 'ideal pony', who was expecting a pony exactly like Twilight, unable to think for herself.

  8. I was eager to talk about it.
I'll be honest, as much as they look alike, Luster is not the daughter of Sunburst and Starlight, I prefer to say an embodiment of both, just as Twilight is an embodiment of Celestia and Luna, unrelated by blood. Luster seems too old to be their daughter, according to my calculations, Luster must be close to being the age of Flurry Heart, (maybe a little younger) since if we assume that the mural is from his coronation as ruler of the Crystal Empire and it's relatively recent, Flurry Heart must be the right age to take on that role, and it's been roughly 20 years since Flurry Heart was born, which was born just as Starlight and Sunburst met again, so Luster would have been born out of magic of the friendship between Sunburst and Starlight, only in another place in Equestria and born from two other random ponies, and she embodies the physical and magical characteristics of both. Also, Luster (Dawn) is just when the first rays of the sun appear (Sunburst) and the stars are no longer visible (Starlight). And from what is said at the end of the episode, Luster Dawn's fate in Ponyville would be closely related to them, who would function as Luster's mentors, and we know that at least Griffin is a student of the School of Friendship, and maybe the other three are too, so Luster's life in Ponyville would revolve around the School of Friendship, it's Headmare Starlight, and it's vice-stallion (?) Sunburst. Just as if she was destined to meet them.
    ------------------------
This would also support because Twilight would send Luster to Ponyville and then become a princess if Twilight has only been ruling for two decades, maybe Luster's destiny isn't immediately becoming a princess and in 5 years Twilight retires and she is crowned ruler of Equestria, it's more like taking a big role in Ponyville and the School of Friendship, which would mean at least another ten years for Twilight to rule.

In addition to what I already said, I don't believe in the arguments of "if her mother is the headmare of the School of Friendship, how come she ignores friendship?" When her teacher is literally the Princess of Friendship.

  9. This thread is very old, but I'll still say what I think.
The Magic School for Gifted Unicorns is very exclusive, suppose they accept 10 to 20 students every year, but there are dozens of unicorns trying to enter every yearm, and only half pass the entrance exam, what happens here is that nothing it tells us if the dragon egg exam was the only entrance exam, so the other unicorns would have had to do other different exams but they require the same skill as the dragon egg exam, and few others would have had that exam Twilight included, now suppose 4 foals have that test, two fail, two pass, they have no obligation to stay and take care of this dragon, and it would be easily returned to Dragonlands, but Twilight, agreeing to be a personal student of Celestia, was forced to keep this dragon and take care of him with her family.

In short, not everyone gets the same test, not everyone passes, and not everyone who passes this test is required to keep this dragon. If Rainbow hadn't done the Sonic Rainboom, Twilight would have failed the exam because she simply didn't have the ability to hatch the egg on her own, and she probably would have waited until the next year and tried again.

Regarding Sunset, what is shown in the comic is not her entrance exam, it's only a semester exam to see how much she has improved, and she probably had an entrance exam that she eventually passed and that caught the attention of Princess Celestia, But I don't rule out that that test was hatching a dragon egg, and that Sunset simply did not want to stay with the dragon and was returned to the Dragon Lands, and that would be another reason why Celestia ordered Twilight to stay with Spike.

  10. I am, but I still don't know if the information of a new movie for September 2021 is true, although starting a generation with a movie is a good idea, I don't know if after that they will develop a series or the whole plot will be developed in films.

  11. I don't hate mane six, but I can't say I like them, because I'd be lying, I just don't like their relationship as a group, neither of them is close to being my 'favorite pony'. But that does not mean that there are no moments that I enjoy the show.

  12. Cassandra from Tangled the Series, is actually my favorite character of all time, I had never met a character with whom I identified so much, until a month ago I met the series, and from the first episode I liked Cassandra, but my love for her increased in the third season, a little ironic because now she was the bad guyy, and you're supposed to hate villains, but I think Tangled did it right, showing you the facts from a neutral perspective and not forcing you to believe there is a good one and a bad one, but in the end she back to normal, dark and icy as ever

  13. I loved this 'episode' (or whatever), maybe I liked it a little more than the last one, because we had more 'movement' on the part of the characters, I thought they would put Pinkie talking to Twilight on Sugar Cube Cornell and the The rest would be memories, but no, they were also in the castle, so it felt a more moved episode. Starlight didn't talk much about the previous episode, and I loved that she talked a little more here, Spike was fine here too.

Just one sentence: Starlight besides being the cutest pony, you enter the strangest places for a pony

  14. I really don't like any of Mane Six very much, but she's number 3 to me, her design is my second favorite of Mane Six (only after Rarity), her personality was more enjoyable for me between season 4 and 7, after she got used to yelling at someone, just to be "assertive" and that seemed very annoying to me. But overall she is fine.

  15. I honestly hate this episode, the very condescending way Twilight and Spike talk to Luster, it seems more that they are making fun of her than listening to the problem she has. I just don't like the answer to Luster's problem, don't you have friends? then you are obliged to do them. Luster's problem is valid, but Twilight reacts as if it wasn't, I mean, it's a damn magic school !! teach about it and don't complain because a student can't make a damn friend. And I think that this is also partly a consequence of the relationship between Celestia and Twilight, which at first was like the normal relationship between any teacher and their student, the fault is also the fandom because they projected their relationship with a mother and daughter, and indeed the writers ended up projecting that on the show, and now the relationship between Twilight and Luster is supposed to be similar to that of Celestia and Twilight, and that's exactly my problem here, Luster should drop out from Twilight's school because focuses on something completely foreign to what school should be, not being sent to Ponyville after a story of how the little princess Twilight was crowned and blah blah blah, and completely change her mind, things do not work that way.

And that comment from Spike to Twilight '' Is that your best student? I am not going to explain how it made me feel, because the phrase is horrible in itself, but I want to hit him. He was treating Luster Dawn like she was a fool, and that was the last straw for me in the episode. Is that supposed to be Twilight's royal adviser? I wouldn't be surprised if Twilight was a horrible ruler, because that's how I feel about her in this episode.

sorry if there is any grammatical error or whatever.

  16. I'm so bored of all the trouble people put up for something that should already be known, generations aim to be completely independent from the previous ones, that means: different world, different characters. We will never see any FiM characters in the G5 again. Also, voice actors don't work in the executive direction of the franchise or whatever, they just give the characters a voice, nothing more.

  17. I think there are many people who hope to see the same characters again, with the same personality and in the same story in the same world, I think it is necessary to clarify that the next generation will not be located in the same world, so they will practically not exist the same characters, we can only hope that the concepts that these characters represent and / or their designs appear. For my part, I would like to have Luna, a pony that is related to dreams, Sunset Shimmer, because that name is too beautiful to discard. From what I can see, they will bring back at least part of Mane Six, Twilight, Rainbow and Pinkie, they are the three most popular so it is quite certain that they will be the protagonists or at least secondary characters, I can also Spike, a dragon that He lives with ponies, although I don't like the idea too much. But in reality all this depends on the world that will be created for this generation.
