      First stories always take a long time to publish. Mine was a one-shot and it took at least a couple of days.

      They probably have to check you the first time, just to check that everything in the fic follows the rules. The second time, they wouldn't check as much, since they already know that you follow the rules.

      I'm pretty sure that there is a similar system on this forum. The first few replies I did to posts had to be checked by moderators before they were posted, but that only occurred for the first few replies.
