Every single fucking morning when I wake up, I thank god that I learned English, for it has given me awesome friends here on these very forums.

For all of my friends reading this, thank you for being so nice and friendly. I really enjoy interacting with y'all.

I will be absent for some days or maybe weeks due to monetary problems, keep being awesome and yourselves!

QuoteThat horse is dead.

Yeah, if I was to learn a new language, I'd stick to languages people still use.
But I still find Latin interesting for some reason.
QuoteHaving learned English to the very, very major part of checking words online at dicts, I can feel you for sure! The worst are words that are pronounced totally differently than one would expect, such as meme.
So true... The words I struggled the most with were "albeit" and "awry". I only found out about their correct pronunciation years after I first saw them in text. Thankfully, I never had the chance to embarrass myself with "al-bite" (it's actually pronounced like "all be it", which makes a lot more sense).

@Pastel Heart @Stone Cold Steve Tuna
When Fidel won our freedom he made a speech the day 8th of January, yes, he won the 1st of January of 1959. The point is that he said:
From this point on things wont be easier, in fact, they will be harder.
And those words took effect at various points but the worst one was the period from 1990-2000.
This "Special Period" was so bad that my parents still remember it. When the URRS disappeared 99% of our economy did as well, want to know what did we have? Nothing, nada. Almost no food, starvation was such that the cats were missing, eaten by the hungry masses. No water in the houses, and worst of all, no electricity. Yep, imagine your house just didn't had electricity, no TV, no lights, no nothing! And there was 32°C, people were often outsids of their homes because the heat was unbearable. They only had it for 8 hours a day, if there wasn't any problem. The streets were empty, not a single soul walked them, only some old men playing dominoe or someone in a bycicle. There weren't cars either, or any other vehicle, like a ghost city. There were two sickness due to the bad nutrition, some lost their sight and some still have pain in their muscles and stuff. And yet, a lot people survived it, that's why I love this country!

@Stone Cold Steve Tuna @Pastel Heart
I think you misunderstood, I wasn't alive yet luckily, but I still hope I don't have to go through that.
-
@Bastian Well, still, your parents survived so you're here! Sentiment is the same, nyahaha~
We're bound in international solidarity now! Even if something bad happens again there's no crisis can separate us! Well, as long as internet infrastructure survives

@Bastian Good morning.

I hope you have an awesome day today
Enjoy your English lessons
Being multi-lingual is a nice skill to have (I'm assuming that English isn't your main language).

Sorry for the delay @RaraLover.
I was in my English classes and I never noticed.
These days have been great for me, but well, what day isn't right?

I had two tests this week but I don't have any next one.
Aside from that everything is pretty normal.
University sounds tough, now I don't want to grow up.

@Tacodidra *hugs back*
Thanks, my friend!
I hope yours is too! Stay safe out there!
@Bastian It seems you are cruising along nicely. Wish I was in the same boat.
I hope your tests went well!
(I bet you aced it!
)
The virus thing is really putting my classes into wack.
It was just announced that next week I will have no actual classes and most of the time is just for self study. So yay, more time on the forums!
Growing up is scary! I just want to be a kid again!

I've been wondering about something. @Bas said once that I got quite a nice reputation in little time and so I thought: What is it that makes some people follow me? If you feel like it, tell me, why did you follow me? Im curious.

I just found out that there are lightning that go up instead of down and that a cuban woman survived a direct hit of lightning to her neck.

@Kujamihits not lightning, but look up marfa lights. There are others like them. They may or may not be real, but they’re pretty cool.
