Welp, I guess I have something to use my Netflix subscription for other than background noise now lol

The animations and character designs are gorgeous, I love them so much! The toys on the other hand...they look absolutely terrible...

Heck yeah, I need something new to watch and ponies are always good! My attention span when it comes to longform media like movies is absolutely completely terrible less than passable but I'm super excited!

I've actually been really interested in this kind of thought, as I've seen people I know were previously NEVER interested in MLP finding the CGI pictures we've seen really interesting! It's entirely possible that G5 might form a fandom that's somewhat separate from G4 and the bronies (kind of similar to G1 collectors who are ONLY interested in G1 content) that doesn't interact much at all with the surviving G4 community...but in the same breath, current G4 fans might enjoy the G5 content and keep the fandom going into this new show, making the current fandom last longer. Another example I find interesting is the Naruto and Boruto situation, as a similar fandom split could happen with G5; fans from G4 dislike the new show and few stay around to watch it, so the fandom ends up being comprised of people who perhaps weren't interested in ponies at all until bronies declared it to be nowhere near as good as G4...or on the other side of the coin again, it could be like Legend of Korra where fans of the older and newer shows tend to be the same people who were there from old. (from experience online, I've never actually been involved in the fandom so feel free to correct me on this). As for me personally? I've loved ponies since mid G3 when I was a kid, so I'll likely stay here regardless of the quality of G5, as I'm rarely vehemently hateful of new versions of things I like (I'm stupidly easy to please when it comes to media I enjoy ), so I doubt I'll be falling out of the fandom any time soon!

I hope that with the shift away from the Mane Six finally being a permanent thing, the series will be less laser-focused on one specific set of ponies and instead explore many characters, so I'm actually quite glad we've moved past them (despite absolutely loving the Mane Six!). I REALLY hope G5 tries to expand the universe without constantly having to use the same characters as a vehicle, and I honestly think going back to previous gens way of having small episodes that focus on different ponies might be fun to go back to, as long as they don't also go back to the less than stellar storytelling of pre-G4 too. I know it would never, ever happen, but a Mane...much bigger number (somewhere closer to ten or fifteen) set of ponies from previous gens that haven't really been explored would be really fun, some older ponies have really pretty designs but NEVER got enough focus in G4 or even before. Again, there's no way it'll happen...but Toola Roola as she was in G3 (that being an adult with a more mature personality!) or my BELOVED Sugarberry from G1 as a main character would be a dream come true. Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash keep reappearing, so I suppose I can dream!

I really just don't want any characters whose personalities are super simple (kind of like the Mane Six in Pony Life), I hope they keep the depth G4 had while also not making the characters carbon copies of the ones that came before them! I also kind of hope even more species are introduced, not just in the show but in the toy line too, like maybe we could get festive toy sets with deer ponies instead of just getting main characters in festive outfits. Also, as I'm talking about stuff I want in the toy line...PLEASE can we get the Twice As Fancy gimmick back?? I love it, and Sunny would look adorable in a Twice As Fancy set!
