@Spacetime Vortex That’s actually the worst part of Past Sins. It’s horrid misrepresentation of Celestia.

@ShadOBabe I've never liked Celestia, even in canon. As someone who spent over a 1000 years as ruler of Equestria, I would have expected her to have much more of an active role in protecting Equestria. Instead, she spends more time being helpless than actually defending the realm.

You could also say that she's subtly manipulating events in the background. Some people don't like Discord because of his whole pretending to be Grogar in order to boost Twilight's morale plot, but when you look carefully, Celestia has been manipulating events in order to achieve the same outcome of boosting Twilight's morale.
