The design and animation alone looks so cheap and rushed.

@Heasol I’ll never forget when I was there for the premiere of PL and I was gone after two minutes.  Do they want everyone to be high when they watch them or something?

I try not to rant too much about G5 because I don’t want to offend the people who do like it but… yeah, you’re absolutely right about every aspect of it.  I was neutral on it at first but then my thoughts on it slowly got increasingly negative to a point where I’m now wondering what people actually see in it. 

FiM was unique, a one-off.  Nothing can reach its quality levels, not even its own spin-offs!  G5 looked like knock-off Disney, it wasn’t trying to be its own thing.  MLP has gone from uniqueness, not being afraid of taking risks, having beautiful characters, beautiful songs, magical qualities to now being a cliché trend-follower.  What do kids like? Disney! Let’s do that! Bam! G5 Movie!  What do we think they like, acid trips like every other kids show no one cares about? Bam! PL and TYT! 

I wanted the G5 movie to at least tell us what happened between gens.  Why did the races separate?  Where are the Windigoes?  Where did the magic go?  If you’re going to connect it to G4, at least give us an idea of how we got to a point where everything the Mane Six ever did was for nothing!!! 

*sighs* Woah, it’s not very often that anypony sees me ranting.  It’s just really nice to know that I’m not alone in having those opinions about it.  I guess it was always going to be obvious that anything coming after G4 would be riding off its coattails.  I just think they could’ve handled it better rather than painting themselves into a corner where they now have so much hanging in the air. I know a lot of people like G5 and if anything, I’m jealous that they do. I’m just gonna stick to what I love and that is and always will be FiM. 

By the way, we have the same thoughts about current music as well! I’d love to rant about that too!
