Happy Spike Day, everypony! Time to do what I always do on a day on this. A letter to Spike himself! 

Well Spike, you’ve come such a long way, my man! To have been with the ponies through thick and thin, to have saved the Crystal Empire, been through the terrifying prospect of nerves at the Equestria Games and been on a huge Dragon Quest, you deserve all of the love you get! 

I also definitely have to tell you this, my mother absolutely adores you.  You’re her favourite out of every-creature on the show, she even loves you more than any of the Mane Six!  And don’t worry, Rarity is her next-favourite.  
I’m sure this is a moment that the others would like to forget but you remember the argument they had on the beach?  When they split up and all that and I cried?  I noticed that when that happened, you stopped for a second, then you immediately turned around and went with Twilight.  That alone tells me something. That you deserve the Element of Loyalty just as much as Rainbow Dash!  (Please don’t tell her that though. She’ll hate me for it.)  Your loyalty to Twilight is amazing and I know you’ve had doubts about getting replaced before, the good news is... there is no replacement!   It’s an amazing thing to see the two of you and you know the others wouldn’t have met if it wasn’t for you?  You were the egg! 
On this special day where we celebrate what you’ve done, I want to say congratulations on everything you’ve achieved. You’ve come a long, long way!
