  1. This is a question to all the ponys that watch anime and read manga, who’s your favourite character and why?

I watch more anime than I read manga, can I still answer this question?

      In that case, sentimental answer:

      Vash from Trigun.

      Spoiler

Trigun was there for me at the height of my depression years ago. There had been many times when I was suffering in silence and thinking of killing myself.

When I discovered Trigun, I saw the main character (Vash) was going through something very similar. It might not have meant to be actual depression, but the similarities are uncanny.

But near the end, Vash was able to forgive himself, to let go of all the pain he felt, and move on with his life. He realized that the future is blank, mistakes can be rectified if you're alive and still moving forward, and life doesn't have to be hopeless. If you keep your vision clear, then you'll see the future. He conquered his depression, and somewhere in there, his revelation clicked with me. Eventually, I made a similar revelation. I was able to conquer my own depression and move past it.

It may sound stupid to say a cartoon helped me when I was depressed, but I know many people have gone through similar journeys in life, and I'm just proud to still be here.
