I second Feld0's idea of making a MLP exclusive thing that's awesome enough to be on EqD.

The way it checks when you were last active is based on your last click on the site. Whenever you're logged in, certain information about you, including your last click, is stored in the sessions table. Querying the table for the sessions that have been updated in the past 30 minutes uses more CPU power than querying it for the past 5. And logging out, of course, removes you from the sessions table entirely.
