  1. Well, when episodes were still airing I skipped basically all of seasons 6-8 I like Starlight but I just wasn't interested in the whole school of magic thing, it just seemed a bit shoehorned into the show, like they didn't know what to do with Twilight. I did go back and watch all the episodes after the show ended, though it wasn't anything special
  2. I thought Zipp being sneaky in the beginning of that first Make Your Mark episode was really cute! So it deserved a redraw Trying to draw her some more to get more comfortable drawing her wings. They're pretty, but the feather placement is a bit odd. Zipp is quickly becoming my favorite G5 character, if only they'd show Sugar Moonlight in the MYM series Here's the original screenshot for reference: Please excuse the jpg quality, we don't get good service out here
  3. This is beautiful! Very well done
  4. I'll always encourage creative outlets for people, and writing is definitely a big one I think it's unfair to judge it solely based off the weird stuff, cause every fandom circle in existence has 'those' types of people. I don't read fanfiction myself, but it's a wonderful creative medium. I've been commissioned a couple times to make art pieces to accompany fanfics, actually! My only issue with fimfiction (and this isn't exclusive to the site) is the handful of times my art has been yoinked from my page and slapped onto a fanfic cover without credit. I make sure to watermark everything these days, but in the past before I started getting a following, I didn't really do that, so there's no way to tell it's my art if you aren't already familiar with me (which isn't likely, cause I'm still a small artist) But still. One bad apple doesn't spoil the bunch in this case, and every time I've contacted a writer about crediting me, they've done so without issue. So no harm done, really I know there's a lot of good that's come out of FimFiction, and a lot of writing that's had a positive influence on the fandom as a whole!
  5. Oh no, I didn't see this until now, I totally missed a con that was in my state for once I'm gonna have to check out the UK cons when we move there next year!
  6. In the beginning of the series, Applejack refers to herself as the "most loyalest, dependable of ponies," and most of her character is based around her loyalty to her family and how important they are to her. AJ even gets her cutie mark by deciding to stay with her family. Conversely, Rainbow Dash has shown in multiple instances that she'd rather do her own thing than hang out, and will duck out of an unwanted responsibility, even if it's to help a friend. In one of the episodes, she literally trades away Fluttershy for a book. She also will not sugarcoat things and will tell you like it is, and while she definitely exaggerates, I wouldn't count that as lying or being dishonest. With all this, I personally feel like Applejack would be best as the element of Loyalty, and Rainbow Dash would be best suited for Honesty What are your thoughts?
  7. Thank you so much! Been listening to some The Chicks tonight, so I chose AJ to do some expression practice. Sorry AJ!
  8. Yes; in fact, they ARE Celestia and Luna, just waaaaaayyyyy in the past before they became alicorns My versions of them, at least Thank you so much!
  9. Thank you! It was a puzzle to work out, but I'm happy with how it turned out!
  10. Aw, thank you so much!! Thank you!!
  11. (unsurprisingly) Rarity gets her own dramatic side arc in my next gen's story Also, I just wanted to draw something dramatic. Rarity has an adopted pony-dragon hybrid son Lance in my nextgen, whose parents are unknown, but Rarity used to be close to his mother. More will be revealed as time goes on as Rarity comes to terms with grief and Lance grows to understand life's nuances
  12. Honestly, I don't mind the ship but I feel like they have more platonic chemistry than anything I think Rainbow is better suited for Fluttershy, and Pinkie with Twilight for some odd reason (though I guess it's best to not try and explain Pinkie)
  13. Written Script: I just think he's neat Thunderlane is up there as well! I just like gray ponies hahaha
  14. For me (being a young teen in high school), it was a lot of scouring hot topic for MLP merch, buying poorly designed t shirts and trading cards and those wallets where part of them stick out of your pocket (I had one where Dashie's tail would stick out from my pocket) Also, with the cross-section of random humor and early seasons, Derpy was absolutely everywhere. I met many people just by wearing MLP merch! Plus, it wasn't hard to actually find MLP related stuff, so it wasn't some big find like it is now. You could just go out and get stuff. I wouldn't go back to that time of my life, but I do find myself sometimes missing how popular it was then and how easy it was to find people to talk about it with IRL. It was such a fun sensation, despite all the backlash fans got from people who just didn't understand, which is not something I miss. Wild times I guess
  15. Hmm... interesting that Queen Haven doesn't have shiny silver/gold hooves like Pipp and Zipp, could that be a genetic trait from their father? I wouldn't think that Zipp would want her hooves painted, though Pipp definitely would
  16. Wow, I never noticed her silver hooves! I just thought they were gray that totally matches Pipp’s gold hooves! Fitting for a couple of princesses, does Queen Haven have hooves like that? Bronze or platinum perhaps?
  17. Friendship is Magic part 1 and 2 for me something about them just gives me a lot of comfort!
  18. Applejack for sure! I'm from the south myself, so I'm a bit biased Though AJ's is a bit different from mine regionally!
  19. Plague. They might have magic and hospitals but I didn't once see any sort of pony equivalent to modern medicine, nor any sort of defense against a widespread virus, especially considering the mentions of the pony pox and that flower that turns you into trees I doubt they'd be able to handle a large amount of infections of those haha not that I'd want to wipe out all the ponies, of course
  20. i have to agree, I know that Hasbro wants to just keep rolling with the new generations for monetary reasons, but I think by allowing the fandom to sit with the ending of G4 a bit longer, a lot of them would've been more willing to dive into G5 instead of instantly rejecting it before giving it a chance As someone who was in the MLP fandom when the transfer from G3 to G4 happened, I understand where they were coming from, but I think it's a good idea to give the new ponies a chance. You never know, they could surprise you
