  1. Already have gone back to see Nobody a couple days ago and it was nice. Me and my family were pretty much the only people in the theater and it was nice to be back seeing a movie on the big screen again.
  2. Drawing of a pony feeling a little sad.
  3. Been playing a lot of World of Warcraft lately, so I drew my ponysona doing the same. And a wow themed version of the same, gaming after a bit of painting.
  4. Pony Alphabet draft 2 is done! Now with less sideways hoof marks (no more broken wrists!) and a couple new symbols made with the tip of the hoof. Each consonant is framed by at least one large hoof print that may be tilted slightly, the direction of each hoof print matches up with other letters that are made using a similar mouth movement. Doing some research, I found that letters can be grouped together in how they are pronounced by the mouth, so short consonants like B and T are framed by vertical hoof prints, where longer 'hissing' consonants like S and Z are tilted slightly to the right. The grouping I did isn't perfect, but I figured it was better than putting symbols around completely at random. I've thought about the history behind such an alphabet, and decided that it would be written mostly before civilization and writing utensils became widespread. Something used by roaming groups of ponies to mark locations, or where special events took place. As an example... Take a look at these markings left on a rock recovered by an archeological team. Written by a pony with red pigment applied to a hoof, one word is marked here, below a pair of hoof prints made by two different ponies. As always, discussion and advice on how to change this alphabet is appreciated. Let me know if I made any big mistakes like making two letters identical, I looked it over a few times but I just know something like that could happen lol
  5. Did a little drawing!
  6. Thanks for the feedback everyone, I think adding maybe a small hoofmark with the tip of the hoof or some other method may add a bit of variety to the letters. I'll mess around later and see what I end up with!
  7. So I know in the show there has been some appearances of written language, whether it be some sort of hieroglyph-like unicorn language or simple squiggles, but I thought....why not make my own? This will just be a simple typography change, kind of like the daedric language from the elder scrolls series, or wingdings or something. I wanted to make letters that are friendly to all species of pony at least, something that can be easily written with say, hooves dipped in ink, no magic levitation of writing utensils required. This is what I've got so far, it omits some letters like q that can be substituted for easily, and replaces c with the ch sound, since the letter c can be replaced with s or k in any other situation as far as I know. I also got rid of y, so now pony is spelled poni I guess lol Each letter can be written with the front of a hoof (or the back in the case of vowels), I don't know too much about horse/pony anatomy, so let me know if this looks off. Thoughts? I'm still thinking of changing things, like adding letters back, and changing how it looks. I just thought it would be fun to think about how a different species would write in our language.
  8. I can imagine some characters we could see from FIM... The ones that were turned to stone. Heck, they might have been the cause of this new world being so divided, maybe they broke free and ruined things when Twilight and friends were no longer around to stop them. I'd rather see the old villains than the old protagonists honestly, since having them around would imply that they let the world fall apart into this. Though if we do see maybe Discord or a familiar alicorn or two, I really hope they aren't turned into the bad guys. I did hear something about a group of alicorns being part of the force behind keeping Equestria divided in the movie, but who knows if that's true or not.
  9. Made a banner like the one on the top of the site! I tried looking for places to submit it, but just found old stuff and broken links, so I'll just put it here to show it off.
  10. I changed the title lol I don't do much fanart, but I wanted to practice drawing manes/hair so I used the new characters from the movie.
  11. Oh my. It's definitely...different? I'm not sure I like the CGI lol I can't help but notice she looks like a blank flank in the full screenshot, wonder if that'll play a part in the film. Also kinda disappointed in the whole 'Equestria becoming divided' thing, but it's what I expected. Sort of makes the accomplishments of the last generation seem pointless, unless this takes place waaaaay after that, but I can see mane 6 figurines, so it can't be that long after.
  12. I think the leaked gen 5 style is growing on me Tried drawing Blank Canvas in the same style/poses, I couldn't really find a good way to make it look okay with the eyes and mouth open so I just closed em lol
  13. I've not watched all of the last few seasons (yet) but I think somewhere around the end, the writers must have changed things around or something, we went from the beginning where Twilight was sent to Ponyville to learn about friendship specifically because it isn't something that can be taught in schools to...a literal school of friendship? And we have the elements of harmony working together to spread friendship, which is then turned into just Princess Twilight at the lead, with the others still around but in the background. I'm not sure how the princess of friendship is expected to accomplish anything without the help of her friends, it seems like that was the point of the entire series up to then. As for redeeming villains, it does make sense that not everyone is willing to go along with the protagonist's views, I get that, but it does seem a bit disappointing to show that some people are just bad at their core in a kids show, whether true or not. And some of the villains I wished were redeemed, especially Cozy Glow, being a literal child and all. It's a shame to just give up on someone in such a normally positive show.
  14. A quick drawing: more fireworks, with a sort of minimalist thing going on.
  15. I did a scene based on one from a fic I'm writing, with Pyre Heart walking down to town (that's the blurry thing in the background lol) with fireworks going off. His wing is also in a cast.

  17. I could possibly see that working in the same way Chrysalis tried to disguise herself as Cadance, maybe if Twilight ever fell in love with somepony Chrysalis might try to take their place in order to take love from one of the most powerful ponies in Equestria. And if you wanted to go the happy ending route, maybe Twilight could find out she was in disguise and give her love anyway, resulting in reformation and a possible real relationship. Although in either scenario, I'd feel bad for the poor pony who she was disguised as lol
  18. I'm drinking almond milk. I normally drink plain skim milk, but the store was out so I got this, it isn't bad.
  19. Assuming these ponies are going to be important to the movie at least, if not g5 as a whole, can anyone tell what their cutie marks are? The unicorn seems to have a heart with a button on it and pins sticking out, which indicates some sort of sewing thing, but I cant tell what the others have.
  20. Something feels off, I just can't quite place it. Maybe its the open mouthed stare, I dunno. I do like the hooves though. The characters look interesting though, if these end up as the new protagonists, I could get used to it.
  21. Very close! For the first one, the heart does represent love, and also kindness toward others. The flames are more literal, since he is a firefighter and protects other ponies from flame by flying in to rescue them or dousing the fire with clouds brought in from above. The second one is definitely symbolic, blending in as an almost ordinary spot to show how she blends in with the crowd and doesn't stand out much until you know her well. She's also an artist, and uses her cutie mark as a space to draw on. It usually has something covering it up, which is another part of her personality. She tends to hide how she feels until she trusts another pony. Knowing her name (Blank Canvas), and seeing her with the rest of her spots would probably have given some more context for that. Especially if I showed her covered in paint lol I think knowing at least a little info about the pony behind the cutie mark does help to interpret it, like just knowing whether they're a unicorn/earth pony/pegasus or even an alicorn.
  22. Very interesting analysis! I've got two OCs and their cutie marks match up pretty well with some of these interpretations, particularly the color and abstract/material sections. You can try to interpret them yourself if you want, the first one is somewhat easy: The second is just a white blob, with a grey background because the OC it belongs to is grey and it won't show up with a white background lol One thing to note about this cutie mark is that it almost blends into the other white spots on her coat if you aren't looking carefully.
  23. Welcome to the forums, hope you enjoy it here! Also, nice pony!
