  1. Twilight Sparkle is Best Pony for the following reasons: 1. Unicorn. Definitely my favourite of the subraces. 2. Brilliant; The filly has a library in her head and in her home, you know she'll figure out everything eventually! 3. Anxious. Ain't no melt down like a Twily meltdown. She's even got a series of verbs that indicate what she's freaking out about at the moment! 'Twilighting,' 'Twilynanas,' et al! 4. Keeps on growing. She keeps on getting better at things and no matter how many times she falls she gets back up and keeps on trying. 5. Went from being a loner to a great friend: As someone who has wrestled with depression for my entire life, she struggled to learn to ask for help when she needed it. But she did, and like Twi, I can say it is one of the most important mental health steps anypony/one can take. 6. A champion for her friends and family. She cares for family and friends in the same way she cares for herself- She's awesome! 7. Magic. I mean, magic as a talent? Hello, gorgeous. 8. Purple. SO PRETTY. 9. Simple Mane and Tale: From my experience, the easiest to draw of the mane six! 10. She's also Solid Snake when she time travels. 11. She takes care of, foster parents, and tolerates Spike. Saint worthy! 12. She is AWESOME.
  2. It's not bad, but it's not great either. Doesn't have the same impact of Ingrams music at all. Still, this is one piece of a huge mosaic, so I retain hope that other music will live up to expectations!
  3. There is an archive of the archive so to speak, located here: https://rainwatertornado.cloud/ I downloaded the whole 938gb raw torrent and have been seeding for days. Hope you enjoy the music!!
  4. Can't believe April is already closing out. Been a fun month, what can I say. I found out that I've entered into Renal Failure stage IV, I've cut back a ton of salt and sugar out of my diet, and I've lost 10 lbs. 82 more to go!

Ankle healed up nicely, and I'm finally getting back outside into the world again. Been spending some time down on the beach out here in the PNW, which is nearly mythical in its' beauty. Really thankful for medical science right now. Even a compromised person like myself, suffering kidney disease, can re-enter society thanks to this lovely little vaccination. Can't wait to get back to picking litter up off our beaches again!

It finally feels like there's a light at the end of this tunnel. Hope you all are seeing it too.

It's good to hear your ankle finally got better. I hope you have fun cleaning earth's paradise :eager:

Thanks Windy. It's always awesome to get down to the water and help to keep it gorgeous!

Hope your upcoming week is amazing!! :yay:

  5. Welp, twisted my ankle yesterday while going outside to do some journaling in the sun. Now I get to stay inside all day while my foot heals up! Woo! An excellent excuse to get into some pony drawings, I think.

How are ya'll? Hopefully summer is settling in nicely for all of you as it is over here in the NW US. Folks getting out in their summer clothes, animals hanging out in the warm sunshine and the world just seems a little friendlier. =)

I hope your foot gets well soon. Summer is a bit nice to me and my family since its not too hot compare to the previous years.

Thanks Windy! Fortunately, it was a minor sprain, and we tended to it quick! I'm already back to walking normal. It's been just lovely over here too- Can't wait for another chance to go for a walk.

  6. I've said it once before, but I really don't think lightning will strike twice here- too many corporate suits involved. That said, I really do hope they'll keep a lot of the original writing team for the next generation. The stories and character growth are what make G4 so amazing, and I think they're going to stick to that formula. No reason to reinvent the wheel, after all. My mantra is: "Expect the worst but hope for the best." They've got some brilliant writers on staff, let's hope they use them! I'm waiting with no small amount of anticipation for that first episode.
  7. Hey, welcome to the herd, @Dawn Glow!! I've had it in my head that she was pink maned in canon too- My theory is that the use of the Elements of Harmony caused some color bleed/power transference or something, and their influence gave her the colors of the aurora. It is admittedly my own headcanon tho, and nothing proven. I like Pinklestia, I think she's cute.
  8. Welcome to the herd, @Sparkly sparks!! Love Pinkie Pie, but she can get a little crazy for me at times! Glad you cottoned to the show, I think you're gonna have a really good time. Can't wait to see ya 'round the forums!
  9. Been working on some guitar tabs provided by this lovely group of folks, and I've discovered a few things. First, plucking strings and specific fingering on a guitar is way different than learning chords and just strumming! Second, my fingers are getting stronger, but I gotta keep practicing. I can reach my finger all the way across the frets to finally cover all 6 strings for an F-chord, but I can't quite get my finger to push down all the necessary strings. Stilll, I get a little closer every day!

My best friend IRL just recently got her 2nd round of COVID immunizations, and we're going to resume an old activity from the before times we both loved: exchanging cartoons!! She watches an episode of MLP:FiM, and I watch an episode of her choice from any cartoon she wants to show me. We're going through Gravity Falls at the moment, and holy crap that's a great cartoon! She had a moment during "The Ticket Master" when Fluttershy mentions "Buzzards that really buzz!" where we had to pause the show so she could laugh so hard she cried. Pegasister in the making!

Going to set into "Tales from Canterlot High" soon. Celestia be with you.

Oh, and happy Saturday to all you ponies in the western hemisphere!

  10. Hiya Elle, welcome back to the herd! I'm in a similar boat in that I've been a fan for years, but am inexperienced here. So far this group has been incredibly welcoming, and I feel like I really belong here. I'm sure you're going to be welcomed back with open arms (hooves?)! Hope to see you around.
  11. Now that I've got both of my vaccines settled into my body, I'm hitting the streets again looking for a proper job. I'm planning on moving onto a sailboat as a place to live, and a nice job that lets me work from home will be incredibly helpful on that level. Or at least one that allows me to move around a lot.

I can't wait to get out and wander WA again. C'mon COVID, bite the dust already!

We all want COVID-19 go away. I missed going out to the malls and eat in restaurants. I've been at home since the pandemic struck.

I guess you can catch fish just be careful with the incoming storms. :sunny:

I've been at home with fam since the beginning, only leaving to go to the grocery store and the occasional walk around the neighborhood. I'm earnestly hoping that with functional vaccines making the rounds I'll be able to get out and start volunteering again! Love my fam, but staying with them for a year in the same small enclosure has gotten kinda stifling!

Funnily enough, I don't eat fish- but I LOVE a good storm on the ocean. I think things will go along swimmingly! (har!)

  12. Just got a chance to experience "Rainbow Roadtrip" for the first time last night. What a fun movie! The 'Hope Hollow' ponies with the hoosier accents really did it for me. It didn't have quite the quality of the 2D show and the jokes felt a bit on the corny side, but it was quality pony and very fun.

On another note: Cyberpunk 2077's new 1.2 patch is a hoot. Been spending tons of time in there. Also playing a LOT of the Long Dark. Still trying to find a decent multiplayer game that I can get into that doesn't set off my anxiety something terrible.

    Celestia bless you all.

  13. Welcome back to the herd, @M0ssy!! Hope to see you around! I'm only now getting into Equestria Girls, and I must say, I'm absolutely in love with the music. Hope you have fun, and that your stay is amazing.
  14. I've been pretty slack in my practice too, most days. I get around 15 minutes of practice in per day at the moment, but that's also because I'm constantly trying to figure out that Fchord. I just keep trying until my hand hurts too much to use! Still, I think some guitar practice among bronies sounds kinda awesome. Any ideas? Downloaded the freshest version, starting to get to work on it! Thanks again Blackfire, you're the best!
  15. Hiya @PhantomThorns, it's nice to meet you! Welcome to the herd. Lots of awesome folks here, and I can't wait to see your art! Fluttershy might not be MY best pony, but she's definitely one OF the best! She's SO CUTE.
  16. Hiya @JMTV99, welcome to the forums! Awesome folks here, I'm kinda new myself. Hope to see you around. Welcome back to the herd, and EXCELLENT taste in Best Pony, might I add.
  17. This is so amazing, I'm floored by the effort you put in here. I'm still really, really new with guitar, trying to get my hand to handle an F-chord at present! This is going to be the song that cuts my guitar-playing teeth, I think. Lots to figure out here going forward, at the moment I'm basically just learning to strum chords. Single-string picking is going to be a challenge! My music reading comes from singing in choir in my youth and playing penny whistle as an adult- guitar is an entirely different animal. You rock, Blackfire Blaze. Thanks again for some amazing work. Once I get this song figured out, I'll send you a recording!! You're awesome, and thanks again. Hope I can return the favour at some point! Edit: No luck on learning 'Let it Rain,' but you fixed that. Time for me to get to work!!
  18. Hiya Kadae! I too am a HUGE tea fan, dare I say even an enthusiast! Tavi is also amazing, super cool you identify with her. Looking forward to getting to know you. I'ma go brew a pot of chai now. <3
  19. My big discoveries so far have been Forest Rain and Spectra. They have such amazing melodies, and their songs are so moving! Nebula is one of my favourite songs ever, I only wish there was an extended version out there somewhere. I actually downloaded a music library program to handle all of the files in this beast of an archive! I also found 4everfreebrony and Prince Whateverer via Ponies@Dawn- I've NEVER liked metal, but Prince changed my mind! 4everfreebrony just has the best voice, and I love his covers. "A Final Twilight" made me ugly cry. :p By Celestia, this is the best fandom EVER. I'm hitting up the archive now to check out Rainfall, PhillyPu, and the others you mentioned. Thanks for the leads!!
  20. Planning on giving the series a shot, definitely going to watch the movie. I honestly doubt that lightning will strike twice for this particular property, but I also know that the folks behind it are some of the most creative and in-touch with their fans around. TL;DR: Expect the worst, hope for the best!
  21. I'd definitely say that Sunset has emerged as a sex symbol, but I don't think she was intentionally designed as one. As one previous commentator noted, a good sized number of her fanbase are adolescent males and humans being humans, they're gonna sexualize her. I definitely find her attractive, but as a middle-aged male, I'm not so prone to the raging hormones of youth. In summary: Fans made her a sex symbol, not the creators. IMHO, of course.
  22. The one I really, REALLY want to learn is 'Let it Rain' by Sunset Shimmer. That song moves me to tears nearly every time. Thanks so much for the offer! I can't offer much in return, but I'm a pretty good editor if you want something proofread. Love offering feedback! Thank you for the link, this should work nicely! I'm learning on an acoustic electric, so I'm guessing classical guitar should scale (hah!) nicely. Lots of stuff to dig into here, you're awesome.
  23. Actually, that's the trove of which I speak! I've listened to nothing but pony music for the last year because of that awesome archive, it's been a real boon for my mental health. I went and downloaded the entire huge version, with all the raw files. So. Much. Music.
  24. This is great, thank you very much! Lots to dig my teeth into here, can't wait to get started. Cheers!
  25. Hey, ya'll. I've been learning to play guitar over the last year, and my progress has been pretty slow because I can't seem to find any songs I really want to play. I can read music, but I still find tabs easiest to work with while I'm still learning songs. I also play the penny whistle, but that really doesn't help me a whole lot, heh. Does anyone have any suggestion about where to find good MLP guitar tabs? I'm really on the lookout for stuff from Equestria Girls as well as the mane series, 'Let it Rain' almost always makes me cry just a little. Been scouring google and various other search engines for the things, but having a very rough time finding anything at all. I'm hoping you fine fillies and colts have some leads I might pursue? Thanks!
