Headcannon: Rainbow Dash always had a crush on Futtershy. When she saw the way Futtershy acted and looked at Discord she hated him. She lost hope of a romantic relationship with Fluttershy and better understood Discord Rainbow Dash began looking at Applejack differently. After that she helped in the protest for interspecies relationships so that Fluttershy and Discord could forever be happy and not ostracized.
