    Why do people say Dota 2 is such a good game? I haven't played it so can anyone tell me how fun it is?

      All it takes is one person's screws up to ruin the game for his team, that's why all newbies are frowned upon

       

      Starting is rather difficult, but once you understand the mechanics, everything is a walk in the park

      Try playing against bots first, experiments with the items and heroes, and learn how to act against enemy heroes' skills. Map awareness is also important no matter what kind of level you're in.

       

      When you're ready, try playing with some friends first, strangers can wait much later. After that, you will know what to do :P

       

      Reading guides from the forum can also help a bit
