Ke gained supernatural powers through Taoist practices, and his weapon was a big red stick. He also learned a technique called "Cloud Traveling."

Klopp beat me to it... Yeah, a lot of people say "X is a DBZ reference", when it's just multiple things referencing Journey to the West, which is really famous.
