  1. While my MLP fanfic does not assume other people want the same if they did not explicitly state they did, I don't care if others think this wish I have about being reborn as a Pegasi in Equestria is foolish or "insane". Just as I don't assume you're foolish for not desiring the same thing. As for the possibility of being harmed by Chrysalis if this were not simply a fantasy, well, in my case, I suppose it would be karma. Being on the receiving end of harm I once inflicted on others IRL. I truly regret the time when I bullied others. Yes, I would choose this rebirth in this fantasy realm even with that risk, while having friends would be awesome there, I would also want my loyalty to them tested.

  2. Rainbow Dash MLP FIM can have a bit of an ego sometimes, I am aware, but at least she uses her skills to help others, and she realizes that endangering innocents is crossing the line. In Read it and Weep episode we saw she resorted to petty theft of a story book, but even then, she had enough of a heart to not disturb patients at the hospital. That proves something, that she cares and will not hurt the most vulnerable to get what she wants. What she did in that episode was foolish, but that doesn't make her a monster.

  3. Like with all other MLP fan fictions, my one can never happen for real. I genuinely believe I would be happier as a Pegasi in the fantasy place Equestria. It's not that I don't care about people in the real world. However as my fanfic tells, like others who went through that fictional rebirth process, I would not regret that, especially if it also led to me being a better person than I am now. Why? because friendship would matter more to me there than the trivial or self centered nonsense people argue about in the real world, like religion, material possessions and power. Yeah Rainbow Dash in the fictional world of MLP FIM can be a show off sometimes but compare her attitude to the much worse attitudes some people have in real life, no, I'm serious, she would still be an easy friend to get along with.

  4. Can't say there was an episode I hated, however there are some characters I dislike. Iron Will took advantage of Fluttershy's hardship in Putting Your Hoof Down and turned that into a business opportunity to make her overly aggressive, causing her to be rude to her friends Pinkie Pie and Rarity. Snapping because others treated you horribly is one thing, but when someone tries to profit off of this and turn you against your friends, that's less forgivable if I'm honest. With Discord his later antics in other episodes clearly came from sloppy writing, we know there were attempts going on to reform him, but that wasn't well thought out. With Iron Will though, we know what kind of a person he is, talks big, likes to show off pecs, a rude brute.
  5. Still thinking what an awesome community this is. Tropical Melody, Snoopy Fan, Tao, Sunshine Berry, abronymouse, sparklefan1234, therockarooster, night sky, clawdeen, pentium100, Octavia Scratch, Kyoshi Frost Wolf, PetalwingFIM, you've all been welcoming and very helpful. And if I do something which irked you, I will gladly try to avoid doing that in future.
  6. Sounds like fun, I wish you all the best.
  7. I hope you get a good night sleep.
  8. I was watching Angry Kid episode Road Hog I loved the part of the video when a van driver shouted "I'm going to knock your bleedin block off"
  9. When it comes to western animation I favour a lot of slapstick comedy ones, which is why I like Looney Tunes. Road Runner and Wile E Coyote would be my go to if I had to pick shows other than My Little Pony. Although I do like Ed Edd n Eddy, which is not a Looney Tunes show, it still falls into the slapstick comedy genre. There is no real plot in Looney Tunes however, they're there for the haha moment and that is all. We know they defy physics but at the same time the sheer absurdity of it keeps us entertained. I'm not saying cartoons with proper story telling don't work, of course they do, but generally speaking, no one takes slapstick comedy that seriously.
  10. Agreed, we have enough stories about human characters, Cartoon Network repeated human character cartoons since they started airing, more of it exists in anime. And while some people may prefer EQG and that's fine. MLP FIM is how Mane Six came to be recognized for who they are. Before anyone says anything about the show essentially being a toy ad, well, so was Equestria Girls, a fashion doll merchandise. I don't find myself being drawn to the premise of Equestria Girls as much, though. And what characters that did have, could've been done in Friendship is Magic as Ponies, even Sunset Shimmer has a Pony form.
  11. That's what I mean, and if we were in that fantasy world situation where we were given a hug by Fluttershy anyway even when not demanding it, as we would not expect that from her, that's when I'd be overwhelmed by the sense of unconditional love and kindness, I would never forget that moment of compassion, if I cried from that, I'd turn my head away feeling shy myself.
  12. Space Jam is basically a story of extra-terrestrials that cheat to try to win a game of basketball by stealing skills that they never worked to earn or refine on their own. There, I summed up the story in a simple sentence.

    1. ZiggWheelsManning

      ZiggWheelsManning

While in real life, the Houston Astros (for 3 entire MLB seasons - 2017, 2018 and 2019) cheated with banging trash cans, whistling, electronic devices and whole other methods to illegally steal signs.

      2017's Tainted World Series title.

  13. I know, and a hug from Fluttershy would be such a beautiful gift. I would not want any material item from her, her caring, is enough. I hope nobody would think I am weak for saying this but if I could get a hug from somebody as gentle and sweet as her, I'd probably cry.
  14. Yes, offer a hug, if Fluttershy was too afraid, respect that and keep distance. I know I wrote a fan fiction where some time after being reborn as a Pegasi in alternate timeline Equestria, I wore flower crowns with Fluttershy as a symbol of friendship and mutual care. Doesn't necessarily mean she would want that, though. But that's okay, part of that story does involve growth and learning to respect others boundaries. I do think it would be cool if other people and myself could be reborn at the fictional land of Equestria though. I would not want to bring violence of any sort there.
  15. I have to agree with the "No" reaction you made to that post. Treating characters from MLP as friends would be more appropriate, not pets. I don't know if that person was joking or not, however that post was cringe.
  16. Quad City DJ's - Space Jam
  17. It depends on what context we are dealing with here, hallucination, or for real, the latter which is impossible. However just for the sake of playing around with the imaginary scenario, if Fluttershy were real, like I saw her Pony form and somehow confirmed authenticity, like still being able to feel pain from an accidental injury. I'd be perplexed at the surrealness of the situation, I'd say something in jest like "This feels like Space Jam, honestly, cartoons are not supposed to be real, yet here I am talking to a Pony from a show who also speaks my native language, like what the heck? how hard have I banged up my head? this cannot be real!" Fluttershy's feelings get hurt from hearing a denial of her existence, which prompts me to respond with a heartfelt apology, or something like that.
  18. Absolutely, there is an effort to make amends from Starlight Glimmer, even though her behaviour is clearly flawed, she tries and does ask for help, unfortunately a lot of people don't recognize this. To be honest, I'm more suspicious of people who claim they don't believe in redemption, because they are usually the ones with the more authoritarian beliefs, they're quick to seek vengeance, until their own flaws get called out on, then they try to justify them, lie or ignore them as if they don't even matter. And while it is true some people don't change for the better, it is still unfair to generalize. If people want an idea what it would look like if Ponies in MLP FIM turned fascist, look at a different fiction, DC's Batman the Animated series with the episode with Lyle Bolton, who became a villain known as Lockup, who not only tortured Arkham Asylum inmates, he also went against the rule of law and locked up innocent people like Commissioner James Gordon and Detective Harvey Bullock. Batman's approach to crime other than cleaning up after the incompetence of Gotham's justice system, was making sure justice and empathy were balanced, for example, he helped reform Arnold Wesker and offered him a job at Wayne Enterprises. Obviously Starlight Glimmer in MLP FIM was at one time, an authoritarian herself who enslaved other Ponies in a sort of gulag organization, but she did change, unfortunately for her, she still held onto an ends justified the means mindset, which led to some chaos for others later on. However if Princess Celestia had paid more attention to Princess Luna's mental health crisis, Luna would not have held onto so much negative energy in Royal Problem. That was avoidable, I'm not saying all of this was Celestia's fault, however she did have a role in Starlight Glimmer's intervention.
  19. Toslink does have its limits, but if we're using wired headphones we're sitting close to our audio gear, Toslink's cable length is not a problem for us. That is true, it is galvanically isolated, which is why I do wish the Spdif protocol got updated to support more modern formats like Dolby TrueHD, it didn't, so we're stuck with 2 channel lossless, again not a problem for headphones, but it is a limit for 5.1 setups as the signal has to be compressed to support 5.1. The problem isn't optical cabling, if it were, fiber optic would not be used for broadband which requires much higher bandwidth than audio does, yeah it may require more expensive types of fiber optic than what consumers would normally buy for their HiFi system, but I think in this case the benefits are worth it, and you don't have to rely on USB isolators to do the job which are often far more expensive than Toslink cables. Paul at PS Audio was annoyed about the stagnation of Toslink technology as much as I was, it should have been updated, but for some reason, it wasn't. Instead we ended up getting inferior alternatives that relied on our gear not having shoddy circuitry in them. Thankfully my Schiit Magni Unity with DAC card is well isolated thanks to USB Unison, but not all DACs do that. Many other people assume based on ignorance that just because it's digital, USB cannot get interference, you know this which is why you had to disconnect some parts of your setup to prevent ground loop problems.
  20. Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog got a lot of the lore wrong, like four chaos emeralds thing, there are in fact 7, or 6 if you only count that cartoon being tied to the original game, but that would not make sense since Tails is in it. What I did like about AoStH however is they got Tails real name right, Miles Prower, Tails is his nickname. We can infer Ivo Robotnik is Dr Eggman's real name since that would make more sense for him. Eggman may have been his original name in Japanese version of Sonic, but it's not as catchy to me as Ivo Robotnik, the last video game he was called Robotnik I think was SA1. Plus he has a grandfather named Gerald Robotnik, if that's not enough evidence in the lore for Eggman's real name, then what is? usually family members share a common surname. Did fans forget this when they assumed Eggman was the "right" name to call him? Another thing I like about AoStH is Robotnik has his own theme song, some other people liked that as well. So there are things the cartoon did have going for it, perhaps the antics of Scratch and Grounder helped in giving Dr Robotnik reasons to hate Sonic when his plans failed. I don't feel like that cartoon gets the recognition it deserves for what it set out to do.
  21. Last night I had a dream about getting blamed for something I did not do, like putting AC electricals near a swimming pool. The worst part about that however, is there are people that incompetent in real life. One reason I wish I could be in the fantasy world of MLP FIM as a Pegasi, yeah there's danger there as well, but at least I would not get wrongly accused of being responsible for something like that. If I died in that world, it certainly won't be because some jerk put a power cord in a swimming pool. Not being aware of anything while a stone statue from a cockatrice for example, and then getting smashed, seems like a painless way to go. Electrocution is not painless, ask an executioner, they'd tell you.
  22. "Super teen extraordinaire, Freakazoid, Freakazoid, runs around in underwear, Freakazoid, Freakazoid, rescues Washington DC, Freakazoid, Freakazoid, unless there's something better on TV, Freakazoid, Freakazoid, his brain is overloading, it has a chocolate coating, textbook case for Sigmund Freud, Freakazoid, Freakazoid" Even the lyrics of the intro are funny.
  23. Some games are unfairly hard as well, remember Dark Castle on Sega Genesis? people critiqued that game in detail as well. Also if you introduced Sunset Shimmer MLP character to NES abomination known as Action 52, good luck with that one. She'd probably end up smashing the cartridge.
