~The Snowy Wolf~

"You're welcome. He's my neighbor, he's pretty cool, but he doesn't know when not to party. So in a way, he's worse than Pinkie Pie when it comes to parties. You probably won't believe me when I say that was the lowest setting on my bass cannon," she bragged. "Who's that? I've never seen him around here before." Vinyl went back to her neighbor's house, knocked on the door, and shouted "Hey Sonic! Get out here!"

"Don't sweat it. Just save the partying for tonight and we can have some fun. Alright?" she called to him.

"Great! I'll be right back!" she exclaimed with excitement as she ran back home. She came back toting a square sound system, that, when she stood on her hind legs, came up to her chest. "You might want to cover your ears for this," she warned her friends. She flipped it on and turned the dial down, the machine opened up and started playing. It knocked the rival DJ, and his equipment, back about 15 feet. She turned it off and shouted, "And there's more power where that came from!" She could tell Six and Timber were impressed by the relatively small contraption.

Vinyl gave almost the same glare as she said, "I think I should teach this punk a lesson in who is the greatest DJ in all of Equestria! But I mean it's up to you, should I just ignore 'im?"

"Hey Timber, do you know that pony or something, because they're waving you over. WHY NOT ME! DO THEY KNOW WHO I AM?" she quietly exclaimed.

"Well, I'm ready to go when you are. I'll start the 'Wubwasher™' while we're on our way out, you won't be able to hear it as soon as we turn the corner," she smiled at the thought of Timber's reaction to her washer.

"Great! Timber, we have a prime example of the type of obnoxious, techno DJ that you don't like waiting right outside. Should I tell them to turn it down?"

"Great, just let me put our dishes in the dishwasher and we can get rolling," she said as she was finishing her last spoonful of buttery grits. She turned to Six, "I know some great places around here that I can show you,"

"So do you guys need a manager or anything? I'd be glad to help. And seeing as your group consists of only two guitarists, maybe I could help out with your sound. And you can ask your bro, he knows I know what quality music is."

"It's up to Six, but I think you should at least eat something,"

"Wow, makes my story sound pretty pathetic," she replied, "But the truth about my parents was that they died, that's why I needed to get away from here. My father was a pretty famous musician, and my mom, a cook. They died when I was six, and even so, no foal services cared about me. So I took all the money and musical equipment and took off to play for anypony who would listen. It didn't get me too far, so I came back to Ponyville and moved in with Octavia and her family. When she moved out, I went with her. And so ends my story."

"Lived here all my life, but I moved into here just about four years ago when I became friends with Octi, I was in almost the same situation as you are, except I didn't have anypony else. I needed to get away from here for a while, so I started roaming Equestria with my, at the time, mediocre sound system, trying to earn some money. When that didn't work out I came back here and met Octavia, she understood my situation and let me move in. What about y'all? What's your story?"

"Haha. Well I wasn't playing it, it was a recording of my father, but I don't want to delve any deeper into it just yet, I don't want to spoil your morning,"

" Mornin' Timber. Well, what we have here are eggs from Fluttershy, grits and milk from Applejack, and some daisies from my garden. What do you think?" "And I hope my music didn't keep you up last night,"

"I'm just wondering when your sister's getting up," she said, returning the smile. "Just wondering, you seem to like me as more than just a friend, is that the case?"

"Thanks, my mother always used to make it like this." she said. "You know, not many ponies compliment me on my cooking, especially not Octavia." "And by the way, I'm sorry I knocked you off the carriage yesterday, I just turned up my music and hoped for the best."

"Ahh and pretty boy finally speaks. Love your eyes by the way. Don't mention it, it's the least I could do after you gave me a ride, and about your sister, don't worry she'll come around with breakfast in the morning." she told Six. "Now you two ponies need some sleep, looks like you haven't been in a real bed in weeks." "Your room is the second door on the right." So with that, the three ponies went to their rooms, but only the guests were able to fall asleep almost immediately. Vinyl sat up in her bed, playing a beautiful song from her father's old record to try to soothe herself. She fell asleep a couple hours later. Vinyl woke up a couple hours before the other two so she decided to start making breakfast, Fluttershy's eggs, milk and grits from Applejack, and some daisies. She hoped that the smell would rouse the others from bed.

"Then you can can come with me. But first I have one question: what do you want for breakfast tomorrow?"

"Thank you for the ride. I think I'll head home, and if you need a place to stay, I'm sure Octavia wouldn't mind having guests over since she's in Canterlot for a while." She finished unloading her stuff and started walking home. "And I'm sure your brother wouldn't mind, seeing that he's already drooling, looking at me." she added over her shoulder.

"First of all, this pony is a she. Second, all I wanted was a ride to where ever you're going, which, by the looks of it, seems to be Ponyville for the music festival" "Third, I also like normal, quality music. And last, but not least, I don't just make house music. And just to put the icing on the cake, I happen to live with the most talented c...cello player in all of Equestria."

She waved to get the ponies to stop, turned the music off, packed everything up, and ran to the carriage as fast as she could. "Hi I'm Vinyl Scratch, but you can call me Vinyl. Um... do you mind if I hop in?"

'Damn! They're already setting off,' she thought. Vinyl set up a speaker as fast as she could and blasted her music to flag them down.

Vinyl had finished a gig in Manehattan and was heading down to Ponyville, toting her sound system when she heard the chord. She came around the bend and saw the carriage on the side of the road and thought to herself 'Finally another pony to talk to. Maybe they're heading to Ponyville and I can stop lugging this heavy thing around.' So she hurried to get over there before they headed off.
