  1. I was formally in a relationship for a year and a half to a good friend of mine, but due to personal reasons and realizing who I was as I progressed, it did not go well and eventually I had to break it up. I hold nothing against my ex for that. I am single by choice, but because of personal preference for relationships, it may be a while until I can work something out, but right now I'm just trying to get a job and finish school and relationships are not my number one priority right now.
  2. I heard some of the staff at BronyCAN is trying to get Weird Al, (since hes a brony and all) to come to the convention.. is that true Senn?
  3. Well, attending a brony convention is just going to cost the same as going to any fan convention. For you it is a little unfortunate that you may be paying a little more than $1000 just for a weekend. Since you're planning on flying there by plane itself will cost you a good portion of your stay (the hotel is 2nd in line) but here is a few suggestions I can make just from earlier experience at conventions: Find a cheap flight, even if its still a little pricy, it is always nice to find the most inexpensive alternative you could get. When finding a hotel, finding one with complementary shuttle service is always good because it saves you money paying for a taxi to get to your hotel (If you have a friend that you know in the area whose going you could always ask to see if they will offer you a ride). For hotels, it will be your 2nd large cost of conventions. I highly advise you to find someone who is going to be willing to share a room. It splits costs and it's great. You can find lots of people advertising their rooms around message boards and such, even here on MLP Forums! Of course taking the plane may cause some obstruction, but not much, but try to pack as much food as you can. Convention food is very expensive and going out for food is as well. Lastly, you're going to want to bring spending money, depending on your wants and such, bring what you need. At least a minimum of $150 because there will be things there you would probably want Otherwise, use the good ol' card.
  4. One was attempted on Victoria last year with only an attendance of a little under 100, but it was in competition with the first Everfree NW in Seattle so a lot of BC Bronies went there instead, it also had quite a lot of guests, if not more than what BronyCon had in 2012. Also another thing I should mention, print the receipt of your ticket when you go to get your ticket.
  5. I think it would neat for Feld0 to make an appearance. I mean it is in his area and is the first time a brony convention will occur in British Columbia. However, his goal right now is to go to BronyCon, which is a few weeks before BronyCAN, so it may be a bit overwhelming for him to go there, but who knows.
  6. I will be going with five (4 from my town and one from Abbotsford) and some of plan on splitting up (I'm usually on the go with cons) But we need to have a MLPForums meetup!
  7. I had the same question about verifying yourself at the door to get your ticket. It's actually simple! I emailed them and asked and they said all you need to do is show ID.
  8. I enjoy Jazz It's relaxing and meditative to me, it's also stuff I listen to when I'm driving home at night. Also music I can just put on just to have some company when I'm alone. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pRqHqxFcOr8
  9. You can be Pansexual and not be sexually attracted to anyone. You can still have romantic/emotional relationships with anyone regardless of their gender, because that is not the key point in why you choose to have those relationships.
  10. I'd say sure, but I don't think the hotel would really appreciate it However, if for some reason one of our buds drops out I can see if we can arrange something.
  11. My friends booked the room! 5 people all in one suite! It's going to be a blast! Executive Suites by the way, right where the convention is.
  12. Most likely working and relaxing. Taking a few vacations out to the coast and continue to relax and hangout... .. And then BronyCAN in August.
  13. Why hello there. ( If you like Boards of Canada, I highly recommend also listening to musicians like Bibio, Flying Lotus and other WARP Artists)
  14. Don't worry, if we all could we probably would drop labels. But to be honest, it is sometimes really complicated to explain things when getting responses like " So you're a bisexual? " " You still like men and women! " etc. Since Pansexuality is very unusual and rare. So the label and the explanation comes in handy when distinguishing sexuality with one another.
  15. If gender is not a barrier for you then you're most likely a Pansexual. However if you're still selective to a few genders then you may be multisexual, which means you're attracted to not just a male and a female, but still limited.
  16. I have a feeling that we're all going to have to set up an awesome MLPForums meetup at BronyCAN! It would be so amazing to see all of you.
  17. I'm pretty confident that I am going. Me and a few friends have made plans to all register and get hotels/transport. If it comes a time that something like an emergency occurs and I cannot go to BronyCAN, then I don't mind giving up the 60 dollars really. This is the only year for a long while that BronyCAN is in British Columbia since its a traveling con so I just want to make sure I am in the roster of people going, just in case if tickets sold out. Plus it helps to motivate my friends into going. But I honestly don't mind investing 60 dollars in something that if it came down to an emergency situation where I could not go, I would not say " well, what a waste of money " but I would be disappointed.
  18. I take it you mean mainstream liberals like left-wing social democrats/liberals eh? I think you would like " Classical " liberals though.
  19. I got my ticket yesterday! I am so hoping to go for the two days! I just live in the Chilliwack area so its not a big trek going to Richmond.
  20. I like this topic.. 1. Auto-Tune, while it is an interesting concept to use in musical production, it steals the true nature of one's actual voice. (It's also overused) 2. I don't hate hip-hop, I just don't like the use of derogatory language, but I can understand the concepts and emotion driven in the song. Also musicians in the community like Flying Lotus, J Dilla, Pete Rock, DJ Premier, The Alchemist, AIM, and others are amazing. 3. Like I've said earlier, Polyamory is not something to shame or to think is wrong on an inherent level, everyone has their own preferences. In my books it is fine. 4. I deeply judge people based on their character and actions, nothing else. 5. When I say I like electronica, that does not automatically mean I like dubstep. 6. The public education model is doing nothing to create originality in students, but instead, it's molding then into a character that lacks any enlightenment.
  21. It's not a spectacular video, but for my interests its neat. And yeah, when I saw the Flying Lotus music video first it blew my mind. And thanks, I love Boards of Canada to death, I cannot wait for the new album. Now for a few more! Kate Bush - Cloudbusting Caravan Palace - Jolie Coquine
  22. A few of my favourites Dayvan Cowboy - Boards of Canada See Thru To U (feat. Erykah Badu), Hunger (feat. Niki Randa), Getting There (feat. Niki Randa) - (Until The Quiet Comes) Flying Lotus
  23. " The objector and the rebel who raises his voice against what he believes to be the injustice of the present and the wrongs of the past is the one who hunches the world along. " - Clarence Darrow
