  1. Do have to agree though, this is definitely one of those simple, yet profound strokes of genius. I'll be using this term in my crusades against whiners in the future.

And yet, I did not create the whole groany thing. I don't know who did, I just saw a whole slew of people use this on sites like 4chan and cheezburger. I merely adopted it.

  2. Uh, what?

Honestly, I don't care about whatever argument is going on here, but please check your facts before asserting a historical event was something it wasn't.

Anyone who says World War II and the French Revolution were religious wars hasn't bothered to study them.

These were secular wars over secular reasons. Might I also add that these were not only secular but were, in places, heavily influenced by atheism, Darwinism, and materialism.

Such as when atheists had a fun time executing Catholic clergy who refused to join their "Cult of Reason" during the French Revolution.

Or perhaps when Hitler spent too much time reading Friedrich Nietzsche and Charles Darwin which culminated in 6 million+ people being killed in concentration camps for being 'racially inferior'.

I just love it when people who actually know facts about things set the record straight. Here is a much deserved brohoof Lady Rarity /)

  3. Do you guys want to know something? When I was in a car crash two years back, I was pretty messed up, broken femur, broken arm, battered and bruised. Do you know who was one of the first people to visit me in the hospital besides my immediate family and best friends? The pastor of a church from my small hometown whom I hardly ever see and only know his name because he drives a school bus. My chemistry teacher whom I am actually friends with and see quite often did not even show up at all. The car was completely totaled and the fact that I lived was a complete miracle. The pastor told me that god must have some amazing plans for me. But no one showed up to tell me "well you see the size of semi truck that the car you were in crashed into and the speed you were going leave a certain percentage of etc, etc.". No one ever came and tried to explain why I was alive with science. Nor should they have. Because right before the impact I said a silent prayer that my friends and I would live through it. And we did. Because hope and faith have power.

  4. Now, did religion do any good? Has it ever done anything good?

Name one that that religion have caused that is good and can be proved.

Apart from the big and nice churches.

Um... are you serious? How about the THOUSANDS of religiously funded charities all around the globe? The millions of people given shelter and food by religiously funded homeless shelters? The moral support that is given by churches to people who have just lost everything to fire or flood? Or are you so blind as to not see any benefit from religion?

  5. Lookup Crusaders and say that religion is not the cause of the war.

Again *sigh* still not the cause. They were started for the same reason I just stated. Greed. The crusades was basically a war for landgrabbing rights. Land being the resource that ignited the war, religion being the justification for taking said land.

  6. Whao! Hold you bible!

I never said it was the main reason, i said it was ONE of the main reasons. Its an entirely different thing. What you are saying is correct, but you are dumb for denying that religion plays a big role in war.

That is why they are screaming

"Muslims is the supreme! We will take over everything"

Their religion says they are the best and should rule the world, basically.

A few wars where religion has been involved:

    -Crusaders

    -WW2

    - The Thirty Year's War

    - The French Revolution

    - Algerian War of Independence and Civil War

    - Iranian Revolution

*Sigh* Religion is more of a fuel than an igniter. What sparks wars is the allocation of resources, what fuels them is the religion of the participants of the war. So for you to say that the CAUSE of war is religion, is completely inaccurate.

  7. There is a lack of evidence that allows me to believe there is a all powerful being that wants to be our friends but lets things happen to us all the time.

now, Jesus did say, love thy neighbor... regardless of what path they take... yet I see all these religions that in fact use the bible but never really take the basic teachings to heart. If I really think about it, if IF jesus did exist... he must be the first bucking brony... love and tolerance is pretty much similar to what jesus was trying to do on the outside anyway.

I am agnostic or atheist... everything is possible but proof is need to support it. I don't believe there is a god or god doesn't really care of our existance... the bible was written to TRY to get us to all get along because we only have 1 life... do the best with that life because your not getting it back (to what I know.) Just doing something good not because it will give you a better chance at getting to heaven... do it because its the right thing to do and you may not get anything in return other than knowing you did the right thing.

Yes, and the bible does adress that too. One is not supposed to do things because they think they will get something in the afterlife. One is supposed to do things because they are the right thing to do. The afterlife you receive in heaven is just a bonus.

  8. I belive all religions are meant for people to feel safe. Even though, me myself would never in a thousand years read the Bible/Koran but i do respect those who reads and belives it.

Why don't i belive in god?

Simply because he is just like Santa Caluse, its something your parents say exsists when its not. Where is the proof? A book? Yes, ofcourse...

Even Aliens sounds more real then a god, there are atleast proof of aliens, and no. Its not an alion formed on a toast.

Jesus? A crazy man. There is a lot of them.

The worst part about religion is how much chaos it starts. Religion is one of the main reasons there is so much war going on. Don't even dare to deny it.

Also, those who think they can communicate with "god".

They look so ridiculous when they stand there with their hands in the air screaming " Oh lord in heaven"

The best part is when they fell down and explains how they got touched by god.

Obviously you know not of sociology. Religion is not the main cause of wars, and I will deny it. The main cause of war and conflict is resources. One country has resources that another country needs. Mainly it is oil, but it is also things like diamonds and gold. Greed is what causes war, not religion. Go take a sociology class or something.

  9. Why do we so openly talk about our opposition to gay marriage? Because homosexual people so openly talk about how they are for gay marriage. So what is the difference? I see tons more threads about how gay marriage is a good thing than threads about how it is a bad thing. I see no difference and for you to suggest as such is hypocritical. Also, the love and tolerance thing is never an absolute. We are flawed humans, not perfect sentient life forms. We are bound to have our own biases, our own views and beliefs, and our own hot button topics. I have yet to hear about someone so perfect as to love and tolerate everything. Even Jesus Christ got angry at the moneychangers

Matthew 21;12 Then Jesus went into the temple of God[f] and drove out all those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves. 13 And He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’[g] but you have made it a ‘den of thieves.’”[h]

  10.

First of all thank you, I'm happy the first comment on this blog is someone who can actually understand (to a degree) where I'm coming from and doesn't just get angry over the premise.

The reason I view sex as nothing more than a means of production is because that's what it is. I feel using it as a tool for pleasure is nothing more than another way to escape reality, along the same lines as gorging yourself with food or even taking drugs. I can not see this as a way to express love.

I also do not expect others to think the way I do, but I want them to so I write stuff like this even though I know it's not likely to change people's minds.

No I don't think relationships are just about reproduction either, I hope this blog didn't come off like I think that way either lol. I think just the opposite really

THIS! I have already posted something similar to this a while back

Can't tell if serious or sarcastic.

For me the reason why I support straight marriage so much, is because to me it just makes sense. It seems humans nowadays are way into the pleasure factor, we want what pleasures us most, but take away sexual stimulation and what do you have? You have the ability to create life still but you have no pleasure from having sex. So in this scenario it would make sense to have relationships between a man and a women just for the sake of having children and continuing the human race. Now I realize this has little to do with emotions like love/lust but to me it just makes sense. Obviously whoever/whatever created us, be it evolution or god, wanted us to have relationships between man and woman or else he/it would have given both sets of genitalia to everyone.

But LGBT marriage is becoming ever more popular as of late, so what I personally believe matters not. Because with something this big, it is only a matter of time before LGBT marriage is completely legal. Everyone knows it, why oppose it? I am for it simply because I know it is inevitable.

I have the same views as you do. I feel that sexual deviance has become a norm in this society, and it kind of sickens me. I feel sad that this world is ruled by sexual pleasure, but there is nothing I can do about it but share my opinions.
