I don't know why, but in the more rural areas of Virginia whenever somebody has a septic problem being worked on, their neighbors come over to look at it and offer advice. Strangers start pulling over and coming to have a look to see what's going on and throw in their two cents. Sometimes people will take lawn chairs out of their trucks and start opening beers for the occasion.

Everything you would expect at a barbeque also occurs when somebody has septic problems.

It's the weirdest thing about living in the country.

I once lived in Virginia, I can confirm this.
