I should add that our parting was amicable. He let me wander the building freely and leave at my leisure, unlike everybody else he's canned during my time there. He also made sure to tell me that everybody there does like me and that it was strictly a business decision. No bad blood or hostility about the moment, just a little surprise on his part.
