  1. At work, at my desk. Going out with my girlfriend's brother for a few beers when my lunch break comes around.
  2. And then there's this guy.

Hey-lo, Arty! Long time, no see!

  3. Hard to say, simply because people/the internet keep redefining sexualities and coming up with new terms to describe the same damn things. These days I'm more attracted to females (in the physiological sense) than males, but I'm attracted to and have had sexual partners who were male, female, and transgender. Right now I'm in a relationship with a cis-woman.
  4. Dark Forces, but it'll never happen thanks to the Star Wars expanded universe being more or less deleted. Doom got a great reboot in 2016 and Dark Forces has the same potential imo.
  5. Sometimes there's a man... I won't say a hero, 'cause what's a hero? But sometimes there's a man — and I'm talking about the Dude here — sometimes there's a man... well, he's the man for his time and place. He fits right in there. And that's the Dude. In Los Angeles.

  6. A few posters here and there that I picked up at cons, some of which are autographed. My girlfriend and I like to paint, so there's plenty of things in the living room that we/she made. Most of our paintings are fairly abstract, but it's oddly satisfying simply putting paint to canvas, even if you aren't trying to make anything in particular. You can also easily coordinate colors with the rest of your furniture and decor if you make your own art.
  7. Have you ever changed your avatar?

      NEVER!

I've used this same picture since around 1999, any time I joined any forum. I scanned it myself from a box of Kim Possible Valentine's day cards.

  8. Work your legs, you bastard.

  9. I think it may be time to spark a J and catch some Zs.

It's been fun and unexpectedly comforting. Nice seeing some old "faces" again. Wasn't expecting to feel such a charming vibe either. Looks like MLPF has done well for itself. Warms my heart a bit tbh. I need to catch up on things.

Shhh you saw nothing, these are not the ex-admins you're looking for.

  10. Did it for the first time last November, which resulted in me having a beard now. I like it more than the partial goatee I used to keep.
  11. Ambivert, skewing introvert. When I enter a social situation I tend to survey the room and make a quick evaluation of everybody I can see and hear so I can figure out what I want to do and how to approach any particular group or person or situation. Typically, I go for the quieter people and prefer low-key interactions, and I only get out to parties or any kind of gathering once or twice a month on average. I prefer keeping to myself and doing my own thing most of the time, although I do crave companionship at times. My girlfriend is the only person I care to see on a daily basis, which is a good thing considering we live together. She's much the same as me in that regard.
  12. Sorry if this is too much for this thread, but I feel like keeping it real. In less than a month, I'll turn 30. For a few people around here like @Fhaolan and @Jeric, this is a milestone or two behind, but I'll wager that I'm older than most people here. When I joined this forum and this fandom I was only 23. The new decade I'm about to enter loomed large throughout my 20s and shrunk as it grew near. What I thought would be comparable to entering my 20s or reaching the quarter century became trivial. I've done this before, I guess, so it's not such a big deal after all. But a lot has changed for me in the past two years. My social circle at home shrunk a lot due to people moving away, disagreements, time constraints, family and friends dying, etc. Eventually there was almost nothing left for me here. In early 2016 that began to change. Started finding more kindred spirits, getting involved in new crowds/communities, got a new girlfriend (we're still together and considering our options in buying a house). In the past few weeks, I started taking sertraline (generic Zoloft) for depression/anxiety that have plagued me since my earliest memories as a toddler. Finally, after 29 fucking years, the emotional cacophony of sadness, self-loathing, and fear, most of which weren't caused by anything or anybody and clawed at me constantly, is gone. Poof! The silence is deafening! tl;dr - I feel great. Better than I have in a very long time.
  13. After a fall and winter of little to no sun, I'm pale. After one good burn when summer comes back around, I turn a lovely shade of bronze and won't burn again for the rest of the year. I like my tanned self more than being pale, if only because it lets everyone know that I do actually go outside sometimes and don't just sit in front of a screen 24/7. That burn though... that sucks. Blisters usually come with it for me
  14. I see you, rookies.

  15. I realize just about every band sounds better in studio than they do live, but I still think Cake's stage presence is disappointing.

  16. Sitting approximately 3 feet away from my monitor, at my desk in the office/studio of my condo, sipping on a White Russian as my lovely doggo naps beside me. His snores are soothing.
  17. "I didn't learn anything. I was right all along."

  18. As others have said, no, they don't. However, the diner across the street makes some decent breakfast items and serves them all day, if I recall correctly. I'm a pretty big fan of their French toast, although I will say their coffee is a bit on the weak side.
  19. I know of several parties both open- and closed-door, but they're all 21+ events. If you aren't interested in that sort of thing or aren't able to attend, there will most likely be plenty of social groups and activities for which you'll be better suited. Last year there were a number of flyers pinned up in the lobby for stuff attendees had planned. Maybe that'll happen again and you can easily locate something that way, even though it'll be a day before the con officially starts. Plenty of people will be there and looking for Day Zero festivities to start things off right.
  20. You were one of few exceedingly rare rays of light here. Glad I still have you though <3

  22. For this, I'll gladly emerge from the shadows for a minute. Chigens and I first worked together when I was assigned as a section mod for Beyond Equestria, getting to know each other a little better over time as we played an occasional Steam game together and chatted in Skype calls here and there. When BronyCon came around, her previous rooming arrangements fell through, so I invited her to stay with me, which is where I think we really bonded and became close friends. Looking back, it feels like yesterday, yet it also feels so long ago, longer than it has been. Funny how time works like that. Anyway, Chigens is as close a friend as I've ever known, somebody who has brought immeasurable joy to my personal life in addition to being an exemplary moderator and stalwart defender of this community. Sorry if I've made you uncomfortable, Chigens. I know you don't enjoy the spotlight and you're typically reserved. You deserve recognition though for all of your time and labors here, but most importantly for being an exemplary example of humanity. Thanks for all you've done to brighten my life and inspire me.
