Bluntly, Silver, it means "bend over" in a style of a head-nod-down, and traditionally in theatre, also with an arm horizontally held at the chest. It is in comparison to the "curtsy", essentially the female version of a bow. Mind you, I'm coming from a background of acting in many plays and musicals for drama/theatre from 5th through 12th grade, so this version of a "bow" is more parallel to an actor's view than would the style of "bow" seen from a M...

...Martial Arts perspective, which is different style of "bowing" from that of theatre.

What a coincidence! Today, after ten years (or more); I watched again the first episode of ST:TNG in the "blind reaction" of one of my subscribed channels in youtube.

I remember that when I watched the series for the first time, he was the character that intrigues me the most.

I am, actually. Not only do I like the song called Frank Sinatra by Cake, I like old Frankie himself. ^^
