Beer, mostly. But two of the better cities in the Midwest are a half hour/hour away (Milwaukee and Chicago, respectively), so finding things to do isn't too hard.

Could you go to a shooting range somewhere and shoot a few? Most of them will even rent you a gun to use and sell you some ammo if you don't have your own.
