  1. Meant to mention this before, but I'd appreciate it if I can be left out of the raffle.
  2. I'm not an artist and therefore can't offer much from the perspective of one, but you may want to have a look at our Commissions forum here and see what some artists there are charging. Might be good starting point, and then you can adjust your prices from theirs based on your skill, style, materials, etc. as necessary. Just a thought.
  3. Chipotle is good. Love me some burritos with chicken, fajita vegetables, brown rice, lettuce, and guacamole. That sweet, sweet guacamole...

  4. Can't say that I do. I think all of us have at some point in our lives and even periodically wonder what it would be like to be the other gender, even if we're content with the way we are. A few times I've thought of ways particular situations may have gone differently if I was female or where I might be in my life right now had I been born as one. But no, I've never had the urge to be female, and since being male is all I know, you could say that I'm accustomed to it.
  5. It's been a while, Mare, but happy birthday! ^^

  7. I haven't kept up with wrestling since 2007 but I think I may be interested again. What is this "WWE Network" you mentioned?

its like Netflix for WWE. $9.99 a month and it has all the old WWE PPVs, a bunch of old ECW and WCW PPVs, and some new shows they've made. You get every PPV included for the year, so I'm watching Extreme Rules through it right now.

  8. I selected three, to my surprise: Pinkie Pride, Testing, and Equestria Games. Pinkie Pride wasn't because of Al, although I will admit that he really made the episode for me. You couldn't have substituted anyone else for him and gotten the same effect. What I most appreciated was the revelation at the end, of how Pinkie Pie, unbeknownst to herself, had so profoundly shaped another child's life, causing him in turn to bring immeasurable joy to countless ponies' lives. It also warmed my heart that she didn't know for all those years, and fate brought Cheese Sandwich back to Ponyville for her to learn of that. Testing, Testing, 1, 2, 3 had plenty of Twilight, which would have been enough on its own. Rainbow Dash's futile attempts to learn and everypony's futile attempts to teach her aren't too dissimilar from the approach to education taken by most schools these days. A one-size-fits-all method and those who don't work out under that model are defective. Rainbow's friends kept at it though, trying every angle they could think of to get the information to stick until something finally worked. As both a former student who was frustrated by a simplistic educational system and needed that kind of help, and as a former employee for both a public school district and a private university who there received that kind of instruction, offering it also to those needing some extra attention after class, I really appreciate this episode. Too many kids these days are made to feel stupid or defective for not being able to conform to a mold in school. The positive reinforcement provided here, teaching kids that they aren't stupid but may only have a different method of learning, and that they can succeed through perseverance, was very satisfying to me. Equestria Games gave my buddy Spike what he's deserved for a long time now. Nice to finally see him shown respect and entrusted with an important task to honor him rather than for the simple convenience of everyone else. Sure, he let things go to his head for a moment, but he learned the acceptable limits of pride this day and possibly saved some lives in the process. Nicely done.

  12. Hey, hey! Welcome! I'm not a roleplayer myself, but it's still good to see another friendly face around here. Hopefully I'll see you around the non-RP areas sometime, and I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself in RPs too, as I know we have a number of good people involved in that. Glad to have you with us. Let me know if I can ever lend you a hand with something. ^^
  13. A... turtle... pokerface.jpg Alright, on to the matter at hand, go Tank! Show your loyalty to the most loyal pet belonging to the most loyal pony! He'll love you forever if you do, of this there should be no doubt. Would you get that from Suri? Nope.
  14. Thanks guys! I really appreciate the warm welcome. I might have a lot of questions about how things work around here, because I still have no idea what to do. And I sure would hate if I got myself banned accidentally.
  15. Everybody, welcome back Aquila! Go pester... er... hug him and stuff. :3

  16. All of the above about varying levels of power naturally affecting the color of one's magic is pretty much what I was thinking. I figured there might be more of a psychological element to it when it comes to magical items, however. The alicorn amulet is red, and red is generally seen as a powerful and aggressive color, which are certainly accurate descriptors for Trixie while she was under its influence; and so, her magic became red too. Rarity's magical aura turned green after invoking the Inspiration Manifestation. Green is sometimes seen as representing wealth and jealousy. Once receiving its power, Rarity went on a spree of turning every mundane thing she could into the most opulent display she could imagine, and thinking that nobody could appreciate her work and vision (except Spike). Seems the color fits the mood here just as with the alicorn amulet. So maybe color does naturally deepen or slightly shift in some way as one's level of power grows, but enchanted items can completely change the color depending on the abilities bestowed.
  17. Spike deserves as much praise as anyone would for what he did during the Crystal Empire's restoration. The problem is, as always, Spike doesn't know how to handle it. He let's it go to his head and finds a way to blow it out of proportion, intentionally or not. Seems like he may have finally learned his lesson though, given how melancholy he became upon learning the truth of how the fire was started. Maybe because that important detail was given to him as soon as possible whereas I was thinking it would take the whole episode. Yeah, Spike may not have been the sole savior of the Empire or the world, but he played a key role and shouldn't be totally snubbed as tends to happen. He deserves everypony's respect if not their adoration.
  18. Having not sat down and watched TV since about 2007, I would be fine losing that. The internet is where I live. Don't take my home away.
  19. My Favourite Mane 6 Pony: Twilight Sparkle How did you find MLP Forums?: While kicking back in my hotel room on Saturday night at BronyCon 2012, I searched Google for a new brony forum home. This was the first result I found, I joined the following Saturday when I didn't have so much exhaustion or distraction, and haven't looked back since. I love this place, and I love you guys. How you became a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: On the last forum I frequented, somebody posted a thread in the general off-topic board (similar to our General Discussion and Forum Lounge) about this new My Little Pony. Most scoffed and derided it, but I among a few others decided to give it a fair shake. Mostly into the first episode and I fell in love with it. Powered through the whole first (and only) season in one night, becoming a brony on May 20th of 2011 before I had even heard the term "brony." Felt wonderful, and I've stuck with this ever since. I became a brony on May 20th of 2011, before I had even heard the term "brony." My introduction to the show was as I said above, and when I gave it that chance I powered through the first season (which was the whole series at the time) in one evening. Best thing that ever happened to me, corny as that may sound. Prior to joining this fandom, I was a pretty angry guy for a multitude of reasons. Said anger and hostility was a product of the conditions in which I was raised defense against further harm, but not at all who I wanted to be or really was. The friends I came to know in the fandom and the cheerfulness of the show itself chipped away at that. Twilight is my favorite pony, and Applejack is my second. There isn't really an order beyond that. Simply put, Twilight and I both have a mind for things factual and fantastic, and have both had to overcome similar social oddities. She's kindred to me, which is why I love her so much. All of the above is how I got here, but as for who I am: I'm just a 25 year-old guy living in Virginia, making a living and playing games and Skyping in his spare time. Most of what I play these days is Planetside 2 and World of Tanks, but I have a ton of games I dabble in on occasion. Star Trek is a long-time passion of mine. Been a Trekkie since I was a wee lad and The Next Generation was still fairly new. The original series remains my favorite of them all, though. Ah, yes, I almost forgot about a very important detail... I love coffee. More than anything (except Twilight). I drink it morning, noon, and night, always with a cup in hand when I'm sitting here in front of my computer. Dark roasts are the best, and the only proper ways to consume coffee are straight or with Irish cream (the hard variety). I'm all about it. This is something I'm more passionate about than I should be, I'll admit. So there you have it: the bare basics of Artemis. Not much interesting stuff there, but enough to get you started. My Skype ID is bronyartemis for those who might like to add me, and my Steam ID is the same. Looking forward to seeing all of you about the forum, and ask me anything you'd like. I'm pretty chill.
