  1. She's just aging. Listen to Apple Bloom in Pinkie Apple Pie and you'll notice Michelle sounds older there too. Can't be helped. I'm wondering if their inevitable aging will cause their characters to undergo any changes as well, such as physically aging or gaining their cutie marks.
  2. I'm the real Artemis. All you other Artemi are just imitating.

  3. Planetside is now more fun than frustrating, something I thought would never come to pass.

Sounds like Disco Dodgeball...it's a difficult game but so much fun x_x

  4. As an aside for a few stories regaled above: some customers are bad for business. The worst I can recall was when I worked as a sysadmin for a public school district. We had a special education teacher at the middle school who had been there for many, many years. She had been known as a heavy drinker for much of that time as well. Not a problem, of course, unless the effects of it impact your job performance, impression on the kids, or you're actually drinking at the school. Problem was... all of these things were true for her. Why didn't they fire her when this was something they knew about for years? Tenure. A teacher who has been with a public school system in Virginia long enough to get tenured, and in most states by my understanding, is damn near impossible to get fired. What finally did her in was a student telling the school cop that she was acting strange. Said cop paid her a visit, smelled the booze, performed a breathalyzer test, and escorted her from the premises in cuffs. This woman was very rude, impatient, and contentious during her time working for the school and none were sad to see her go.
  5. Another day in the Staff Lounge: I know everything I post from there is ridiculous, but that's just how it goes.
  6. Not at all excited about the RoboCop reboot, but I suppose I'll see it anyway.

  9. I learned how to type "properly" in middle school using the home row. Never did it that way though, and to this day I can touch-type by simply letting my fingers go all over the keyboard as they wish. I can still type just as fast as your average person without using the home row. Angered my teachers that I could do something well with a method other than the one they demanded. A friend of mine types the same way, but he's better than I am. He once had a contest with our typing instructor and smoked her, fewer errors too. Felt good to watch that.
  10. I'll ban anyone who doesn't talk to RJ about the Lego movie.

I've got me a dual citizenship as well. It's like having an affair...only it doesn't make one a total scumbag. :3

  13. ^ That guy several times implored that I watch Madoka, and I eventually caved. Glad that I did, it was pretty awesome. My avatar is Sayaka, one of the "magical girls." She made a big impression on me because we're similar in many regards. There's a Madoka thread floating around in which I posted more details, but locating and linking to it from my phone would be a huge pain. That's it in a nutshell. ^^
  14. Not all of them. I'll write a book once you're gone. :3
  15. Most of the time when we've seen the Apples come together, it's been to assist each other with what is for them fairly routine work. They get settled into it and work like a machine; comes second-nature to them. Familial interactions aren't so commonplace on screen. We have seen Applejack chastise Apple Bloom a few times before though, and Applejack and Big Mac had a slight fuss over AJ's ability to handle the place on her own. They disagree/quarrel like any family. Evidence of this has been there from the beginning. In this episode though, they weren't exactly working together and were given many more opportunities to interact on a casual level, and road trips (being confined to a vehicle for a long duration) is taxing on families most of the time. Not to mention that everything you don't want others to see about your family has a way of presenting itself at inopportune times, and things tend to get worse when people feel they can't allow their problems to show and work them out normally in front of non-family, which only causes problems to fester and ultimately explode into something much worse than they needed to be in full view of everyone. Seen it happen to my own family on several occasions. And a friend's family. And to families of strangers. A side of their family that has been known to exist was simply given a spotlight in this episode. Nothing out of character here.
  16. Crispy, my man! Been a while since we talked about much. What's happening?

Yeah, sorry about that. Work's been fucked up and I'm basically working 72 hour weeks.

Nothing to apologize for, I've been quiet too. But I know how it is. Work keeps me busy sometimes, especially when they send me out of town for days at a time.

What's going on at work? Sounds like a catastrophe, or perhaps a series of them.

    3. Crispy

      Crispy

On top of Caterpillar being ridiculous on their tolerances for surface finish (without even having a proper profilometer at their location, I might add), three of the four people that work quality quit in the last three weeks. I'm the only one left starting Monday.

  17. As delicious as apple or sour apple flavored candy or lollipops are, they always seem to hurt my mouth after a while. Like they're cutting my mouth without cutting it, leaving it raw. They'd be my favorite otherwise. :\ Cherry is an acceptable substitute. Still very delicious; still satisfies my sweet tooth. In lieu of that I would take lemon.
  18. MegaCon is dedicated to all things comics, anime, etc, not just MLP, even if it may have some MLP-related stuff going on. Since it doesn't directly pertain to bronies or the brony fandom but may be of interest to just about anyone, I'm shuffling this thread over to General Discussion.
  19. Since you're seeking some creative guidance, I'm chucking this thread in the Creative Resources forum.
