  1. Samoyeds. They are beautifull and have the nicest character of all dogs i know of. I've had one for almost 3 years now and I can claim first hand that every second of your time invested in them is well worth it. Dont have any pics of him on my laptop, will post later if i can find some.
  2. Simply by living on this planet everything that happens to it directly impacts us, so the question you should be asking is "Why don't we care about our future generations?". The problem is in the mindset of the general public, who believe that whatever they do today will have no impact until hundreds of years from now (such as forests being cut down, animal habitats destroyed for construction etc). The thing is - they are right. By the time this makes any noticable impact on the planet, the people responsible have long passed away. And this is exactly what leads to greed. We know our time here on earth is limited so we try to make the most of it, ignoring how it will impact everyone else in the future. So the solutions are either: a) Raise the awareness of the general public and make them live under a lower life standard for the sake of the future generations OR Make people immortal, which will make them re-think the decisions they make knowing it will affect them aswell. Whichever you consider is easier.. Also, No offense intended, but when i read "As a Christian", i rolled my eyes and was expecting a bunch of nonsense. Instead, you made a preety good point. What you described at the end there is preety much the philosophy i try to follow. And on a somewhat unrelated note, even the Satanic bible forbids harming animals unless it is absolutely necessary for food and survival. We're not all bad and evil.
  3. I was never actually diagnosed with anything, but i do probably have insomnia, or something related. I have now been awake around 30 hours, and dont feel sleepy at all. I ussualy sleep one night (for 3-4 hours), then dont sleep at all the next. It kinda turned into a routine for me. The most I've ever managed was 153 hours (if i did the math right), meaning just over 6 days, during summer break. I woke up on sunday 5 am and fell asleep on saturday after lunch, around 2 pm. It was then followed by the longest sleep ive ever done, around 20 hours. But this is actually nothing, considering there are people who dont sleep for years...
  4. The question was asked a lot in the past, so someone did a bit of research and ended up with this. I found it posted on /mlp/, not sure if thats the actual source.
  5. I'm not trying to demoralize or anything here, but i honestly feel like you dont quite understand how complicated MMORPG's are... In major corporations teams of several hundred professionals work for several years with huge/unlimited resources only to release a beta and hope their work pays out, and you are trying to do the same with a few dozen unprofessional (no insult, but most/all people applying dont live from this) people who in most cases have limited experience in game development, while only communicating online and having no RL contact. I've seen a LOT of good game dev. groups fall apart, most of them after setting up an impossible goal (ussualy an mmo), and realizing too late how much trouble it is. Take a look at some real indy game examples, like Fighting is Magic. The game is very simple, is completely local without any network play at all, and is based on an engine specifically designed for such games (Fighter Maker if i remember right), yet it has been in development for over a year and a half, and still isnt even remotely complete, even for a beta release. How long do you think would take you to finish a game with everything you mentioned in your first post? Not to mention you would need to invest tens of thousands of dollars into dedicated servers and maintenance to keep them running if/when you would complete this... Also, I'm currently coding in a group working on a 2d singleplayer rpg (and I've worked on many game dev groups who fell apart in the past). We are maybe a month or two into development, we barely scratched the surface of a complete game, and already have lots of issues concerning game mechanics, npc AI, storyline etc. Trust me, go for something simpler, because this will never get completed. I'm sorry, but an MMO simply isnt a realistic goal...
  6. "Dont let what other people think stop you from doing the things you love." Sorry, couldnt help it. Really though, that is a preety good motto.
  7. There's nothing specific i decided for 2013, but i do have some things that i'd like to change in my life (which i expect to be done with this year), so i guess its kinda the same. -Find motivation to start working out (im not fat, just dont have any muscle either) -Learn how to properly type on the keyboard, using all fingers as intended. -Reach 1500 ELO in LoL 5v5 solo/duo -Completely switch to Linux (still running dual boot with win xp until i get used to it) -Study more (esp. math) so i can get into an awesome private IT college. -Dedicate more time to my dog. Hes bored all day, but i just never get the time to do anything with him -Learn SQL inject, XSS and a few other hacking techniques. No malicious intents, i just enjoy learning about it.
  8. I loled as soon as i saw the title. I love Thunderlane, and this is brilliant. Just the hind legs are a bit off (they seem to be at a weird angle). Other then that, this is preety good. ...dat ass...
  9. 4pack of Red Bull, a big chocolate, a box of Toffifee, and a beautifull family hug. Honestly, when i see spoilt kids crying online on how they didnt get a new iphone for christmas, i just want to punch them so bad... <_<
  10. 140 according to an online test (which is most likely very inacurrate) Though honestly i dont believe that figuring out whats the next shape in the line is a real representation of intelligence. By simply doing such tasks over and over, you train yourself and learn exactly what to look for and how to figure it out faster, while at the same time be a complete idiot when it comes to problem solving that includes anything else (solutions to certain situations for example). Thats why i consider IQ tests to be complete bollocks.
  11. 1. Loosing a limb. I get depressed just when thinking about loosing a finger, if it actually happened i would probably commit suicide (yes, it means that much to me) 2. Failing to do my job on time. I'm really afraid of people thinking im lazy (and/or similar), so i take extreme measures to make sure i do what i am supposed to on time, even if it means staying up all night (ive done this a few times) 3. Loosing someone i love/am close to. Preety self explanatory. Even though the top of my list is something most people would consider stupid and unimportant, I am not at all afraid of the ussual things (spiders, snakes, heights, death, demons, clowns etc. - not even slightly afraid of any of those. Spiders are actually my favourite animals)
  12. Re-tell the story of how the mane 6 defeated nightmare moon, just from the perspective of you two who were secretly following the mane 6 and were helping and protecting them from the shadows. Just a random thought ^.^
  13. Programming is mostly math, and math is a universal language. Yeah, there are minor syntax differences, but thats easy to learn. I like the thread, though im not sure how much response you'll get here since programmers seem to be a scarce breed on this forum (i might be wrong here, hope i am) Anyways, I started on C, then upped to C++ and C# (which i mostly use today), and im currently working on two bigger and a few minor personal projects. As for learning c++, theres a preety big library at http://www.cprogramming.com/tutorial.html
  14. dafuq? O.o Anyways, ive got long hair, so people automatically asume im a metalhead (i listen to metal among other things, but i mostly stick to electro stuff). Also, i often get told that im smart but lazy. When people hear others telling me im smart, they start thinking im full of myself and that i consider myself smart. -Im not smart. If one would sum up all the mistakes ive done, all the opportunities ive missed and everything wonderfull that ive ruined, youd come to a conclusion that im actually one of the biggest idiots to walk this planet. -Im not lazy. Being lazy means not wanting to work in general. There are things that i simply hate doing, and there are things i love. Give me a job i love, and ill work 24/7. -Im not full of myself, i actually think other people around me are much better/nicer people then i am, in preety much every way.
