      It's 5 years of emementary (6 including kindergarten), 3 years of middle school (worst three years of my life), and 4 years of high school. But some schools are 6-12, which is kinda weird.

      The american school system is so confusing :S

       

      Much simpler in Sweden: 9 years in elementary school and then 3 additional years in gymnasium (equivalent of High School, I think). Anything after elementary school isn't mandatory though
