Well, crap. Smash bros ate my weekend. So much for the marathon. Oh well, nothing stopping me from starting tomorrow night.
-
Night all, I'm going to bed. If I don't soon, I'll probably wake up in this chair tomorrow morning.
-
Ughhhh, that feeling when you want a glass of water, but you're too comfortable to get out of the chair and go all the way downstairs to get it.
-
Huzzah, Ive done it! My 3333rd post!
(Not that it really counts for anything, I just like nice numbers)

I've been feeling a little in the dumps today. I don't know why, I just feel drained. Maybe this weekend, I'll do a MLP marathon. It's actually been a really long time since I've watched it and a feel good show is probably just what I need.

Holy crap! It's finally a clear sky for astronomy!! I've been waiting for a clear night like this for like a month!
-
Nice! You too, eh? I absolutely love it. I got into it because of an elective I took in my last year of software development. I'm so glad my college offered it; I would have never discovered how much fun it is otherwise and probably would have ended up with some useless liberal arts course like interpersonal group dynamics.
Tonight was a bit on the cold side (very frostbite inducing), but hot chocolate is a pretty good remedy for that! Here's a picture of my telescope:

@Celtore, sweet telescope!

Just taught myself "i did it my way" on the harmonica. I forgot how fun it is to play that thing, it's been ages. I don't know if my dog likes it, he's been howling along!

Tonight was fun! I got the N64 emulator running on my Wii U and played Banjo Kazooie for the past few hours. I haven't played it since I rented it from blockbuster back in 2000. So many memories pre-youtube of not having an idea of what to do...

I have no idea why my favourite radio station insists on playing the creepiest instrumental version of Carol of the Bells. The opening sounds so unbelievably ominous when you're the only one awake late at night.

Unfortunately I couldn't find it on youtube. All the ones I found were way too good, even when I searched for "midi" in the title. I bet you anything they bought the midi a long time ago and just keep it in circulation for the late show.
Here's a far nicer arrangement I found while searching for it.

Argh! Finally a clear sky, but of course it's around the time of the beaver moon and it's right next to the thing I want to look at. Not the greatest luck these days for this astronomer
-
I think I found an exploit in my fitbit. If I put in on a table with a fan, I can achieve tens of thousands of steps without doing anything. Great design, guys.

I went to the museum today! It was a really relaxing and interesting experience, I always come back from there with a generally positive experience and knowing something I didn't know about before. They're also building a Precambrian wing, so I'm really looking forward to what they do with that.

Finally! It looks like environment canada is calling for a clear night on Wednesday and Thursday. Good thing I booked that week off!
-
Well, I guess it's fine that the weather is a bit too awful for astronomy this weekend. I feel like I'm coming down with a cold or something. Early to bed tonight.

How to deal with windows update: dd if=/dev/urandom of=/dev/sdb2 and never look back.
Translation: I just trashed my windows hard drive. Why they can't make an update system that doesn't suck is genuinely beyond me. Downloading updates in the background shouldn't grind the whole damn OS and network to a halt.

The scariest thing this nightmare night... The animation of Nightmare Moon is a 25MB gif! AHHHHHHHH!
-
Astronomy tonight!

Alrighty! New eyepiece for my telescope has been ordered! Hopefully it's better than the one's I'm currently stuck with for high magnification

I ended up getting one with an adaptable range between 8mm-24mm. Indeed, it was a bit on the pricy side compared to buying a regular 8mm like I originally intended (could have bought two of them), but the convenience should make it worth it.
And yeah, lenses are pricy. Fortunately though, you only really need a few good ones and if you plan well, you can barlow the gaps. In my case, my high powered lenses were from my Walmart telescope. Not very fun to use...

The remake of luigis mansion on the 3ds is making me want to pull out my gamecube. The C stick sucks.
-
Bah, sky is too cloudy tonight for astronomy. Oh well, guess I'll have to wait later this week.

Switching domain names is such a pain. I just spent the past hour and a half going through every service I have an account with and changing the email >_>;
