I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this, but I felt that I needed to share it with such a wonderful community.
This is my eighth grade graduation speech that I put a week's worth of work into. Everyone was required to write one, and two or three were chosen to read their's at graduation. I was told by my language teacher that I needed to add to it for it to be chosen, and I did. She raved to all her classes how strong mine was, except for 4/5 hour. She told them that mine had no chance of being chosen because it was all about me. When the two were announced,
I wasn't surprised that mine was not chosen. I was however, broken. I was depressed for several days and even more hormonal and crazy than normal. I found comfort in my Science teacher who always wants to know who each speech belongs to. When I went to ask her about my grade she told me how amazing my speech was and how much she loved it. She then told me that I was the third speech. I was the one they threw out. They were stuck between the last three for a few days and they had picked three speeches before, so I knew that there had to be a reason mine had been thrown out.
As you can see in my video, I have green, blue, and purple hair. It is a choice I made and I'm very proud of it. I've had teachers complain about it but I never thought it might be the deciding factor. I have a few possible reason. 1. They didn't want a blue haired speaker up there talking about individuality. 2. They didn't want to admit that the school had a bullying problem. 3. The two that were picked were just simply better.
I was able to rule out number 3 after hearing the speeches at graduation. Myself, and every person I talked to agreed that the two that got picked completely kissed every single teachers' ass.
I leave you to judge my speech and if you would be so kind to me, share it, like it, spread the word, and tell your friends to tell their friends to share it. I really want my message to get out there and it would mean a lot to me if my fellow bronies would help me.
I know I faltered at a couple points, but I didn't have much time to practice.
