      It is a stereotype that most people(oddly) follow. Apparently its okay for a guy to ask out a girl, but a girl asking out a guy.....PREPOSTEROUS!!!! The reason you don't feel any girl has shown interest is because they too shy themselves. ( and it just makes it easier for them when the stereotype says that they don't have to do any work. I'm positive more than fifty girls have though you were hot over your lifetime. Its just up to you to make that happen. : )
