  1. The best video on the internet:
  2. Seeing a lot of mentions of anime's that ended because the source material is over. Personally, I've never really liked it when animes cover stuff not from the manga, because it usually isn;t by the original author and ends up sucking. Also, Ben-to. How is there only one season of this awesomeness?
  3. But seriously, I'd go with productive. Few fandoms made as much fandom-related shit as bronies did so soon after becoming a thing. Even a year after MLP got big, there were TONS of fanfics, art, music, videos, OCs, RPs, websites, tons of stuff. Okay, so most of it sucks, but it's still impressive that so many people liked the show and fandom enough to make stuff for it.
  4. It was based on an answer I posted to a question on /r/shittyaskscience. Although this is totally the kind of stuff my group would do. We had sharkmen made by a shitty biomancer. They still had gills, so they had to hold their breath when out of water. When they jump out to attack, they have D6 rounds before the have to jump back in to breathe or they start losing consciousness.
  5. Dream Theater - The Astonishing How would you rate it from 1 to 10? 6 or 7, I guess. What did you think of it? It's good and all, but its not up to the same level as a lot of their older stuff. It especially isn't as good as Metropolis Part II, their other concept album. Your favorite song from it? Not really sure, actually. I've only listened to the album all the way through once, and a lot of it kinda blends together, as often happens with prog metal concept albums. Which track you liked the least/hated the most? Again, not sure. Was it from an artist which you were familiar with? Dream Theater has been one of my favorite bands for about 9 years. Are you looking forward into listening more music from that particular artist? Yes, but this is... I think the third album in a row that has been merely good instead of great, so I'm not expecting a whole lot out of them in the near future. Also, going to see the Astonishing Tour in May, it'll be the first time I see them live so that'll be cool.
  6. The gimmick wasn't good enough to make up for the specs and price. Nobody hated the Wii for its subpar specs because the motion controller was really cool. But the Wii U pad is not nearly as cool, and comes with its own problems. So nobody is overlooking the specs and price.
  7. Aww, thanks everybody. Yeah, I guess I'm back, thought I'd post one of my signature comedy news stories to celebrate.
  8. Astronomers and physicists alike were shocked when it was discovered that the moon is caused by werewolf transformations and not the other way around, as was often thought. This was discovered after the moon disappeared for approximately 6 hours after a large clan of dissident werewolves was wiped out by the CIA Supernatural Division. During this time, tides were altered worldwide, leading to thousands of wrecked boats of all sizes. The tidal bulge (the water held by the gravity of the moon, responsible for the tides) dispersed, causing massive waves and major destruction along Atlantic Coasts. Experiments carried out in the LSRF Facility on Mercury confirmed that moons can be created for otherwise moonless planets when sufficient werewolves transform on the surface at similar times. "We suspect the mass of the planet effects the number of transformations required to create a moon." said the lead researcher. She continued "We only had about a hundred werewolves on Mercury, and we managed to maintain a small moon for almost a day." Several shipping companies have already expressed interest in harnessing MCvW (Moon Control via Werewolves) to make ocean shipping more efficient, though it will likely be decades before such technology will be reliable. One astrophysicist joked "given the causal connection we just found between werewolves and the moon, maybe the sun exists because some pagans worship it." In light of the political tensions between the Pagan Guilds, such a connection could have major ramifications if the Gathering does not go smoothly, as many analysts suspect it might not. We at the Root would like to remind all of our faithful readers that magical circles can be drawn by anybody, and instructions for several minor circles and protective rituals will be included in this month's pamphlet.
  9. I might have come back. Or perhaps not. It's a mystery.

(actually I think I'm the 73rd. I don't remember, I actually counted a few years ago to figure it out, but I don't remember it now)

  10. Shows like this are finished months in advance, 3 weeks was probably to hype it up, or because of some other thing showing on the same channel.

    How I found Nirvana

Well there goes my finding Nirvana in middle school joke.
  12. No reason why it wouldn't or shouldn't be canon, and while I don't think it was a good episode, nothing canonized here will have a negative effect on the show. It was still completely messy. Sure, it technically had a plot, but it took a very far backseat to "LOOK EVERYBODY WE SAW YOUR HEADCANON AND PUT IT INTO THE SHOW AND REFERENCED POP CULTURE HOW FUCKING COOL IS THAT" I like fanservice as much as the next guy, but it should be used sparingly, along side actual plot and such. I feel like the writers started with jokes and fanservice and then built a bare-bones story around it.
  13. I feel like I'm the only one who thought ep100 was awful. Nothing happened, it was just 20 minutes of fanservice.

It was the 100th episode though. Most shows in this genre never see that number and WE are the reason it has come this far. One episode being nothing but fanservice doesn't really hurt anything. (And in my opinion it was wonderful of them to acknowledge us so much)

That's a good point. I guess a lot of this is a reaction to everybody else gushing over it... I just really do not like this episode :/

    4. TailsIsNotAlone

      TailsIsNotAlone

It was practically all fanservice, wasn't it? I guess it was meant as a thank-you to the fans and everything. Nice, but I wanted to see the writers' perceptions of who the BG ponies really were. Instead they just reflected our own ideas back to us.

  14. I think it would be hard to do right. One of the biggest draws of AC is how they portray historical settings and events in what I think is more faithful than pretty much any other game. Also, the modern day segments have been pretty boring in every game. 3 was the worst, so much bullshit you had to do as Desmond... honestly ruined the game for me.
  15. I'm not sure if I can decide which version of Hallelujah is the best, it's such a good song, and so many artist have put a lot of feeling into it.

  16. Haven't played Arena or Daggerfall, so I can't comment on those. As for Oblivion, I haven't played it nearly as much as Morrowind or Skyrim, so I might not have a complete picture. Based on my experiences, and those of my friends, it was similar to Skryim in that it dumbed down a lot of stuff, but not as much. On the flip side, it didn't add any of the cool stuff that Skyrim did, like the two hands equipment system (i.e. putting whatever you want in whatever hand you want, super flexible and I love it), dragons, and smithing actually letting you create stuff instead of just repairing it. Overall, I think it goes Morrowind > Skyrim > Oblivion.
  17. 8.1 isn't as bad as it used to be. You can get add-ons that make it function more like 7 (I haven't looked at the dashboard thingy with the tiles in about a year) and hardly tell the difference unless you're doing a lot of advanced system jazz.
  18. Here's a pretty good build for ~$650. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/QpqdP6 Pcpartpicker is awesome, mess around with the list all you want to find a better fit to your needs. Also, paging @.
  19. A lot of Skyrim's early fans were console players. Mods weren't an option, and they didn't know what they were missing. It was also marketed towards more casual gamers who can spend hours and hours playing a game but not thinking too hard about it. I'm not like that. I didn't say all games need mods to be good, I said recent Bethesda games need mods to be good. I never said that I prefer graphics over gameplay. Gameplay is far more important than graphics, but that doesn't mean bad graphics magically stop being bad. I already said Morrowind is my favorite game ever and it has terrible graphics Also, that was more a dig at the engine, and I admit I wasn't very clear on that. Also it seems I may have been mistaken; they made a new engine for Skyrim, so if they're using that it won't be so bad. But if they're using the one from NV, that one is super old. Also, I don't know if more in game footage has been released, but in the original trailer it wasn't that great. And there's been a pretty recent trend of rendering the ingame footage on a high end computer so people will think it's going to look so pretty, not realizing that most systems, not to mention consoles, can't run at that level. Also, this is a speculation and discussion thread, you can make a hype thread and I won't post in it.
  20. Season 3 finale: Make it a 3 parter so the actual story can be told.
  21. Stopping time, with the following provisions: 1. I am unaffected, as is anything or anyone I want to be unaffected. I change what/who is and isn't "on" at will. 2. I am unaffected by momentum and other such physical things if I want to be (i.e. if I stop time while driving, my body isn't effected the way going from 50 to 0 instantly would normally). 3. Things still "on" while time is stopped don't age.
  22. @@COBLoneWolf @@Aleh First off, when paid mods were taken down, Valve straight up said that they still think it's a good idea, but they admitted that Skyrim wasn't a good place to start since the modding community was already so ingrained and such a huge upset would ruin a lot of stuff. We also know Bethesda is where the idea came from, as well as the 25%/75% split came from. This is all about money, and they'll bring it back when they think the backlash won't be as much. We've seen plenty of such backlashes over other stuff; pre-orders being shitty, Assassins Creed Unity and its disastrous launch, Evolve and its DLC nightmare. How long did that outrage last? Tons of people still pre order games, plenty of people still bought ACU (granted they did fix most of the performance problems), and it took about a week for people to forget all about how shamelessly the Evolve DLC was pushed. By the time FO4 comes out, not enough people will care to have the same kind of backlash. And yes, a lot of my problems come from modding, simply because, recently, Bethesda vanilla games have been mediocre. New Vegas wasn't that bad vanilla, but it took a lot of mods to get to the point where I thought "yeah, this game is awesome." Almost everything about vanilla Skyrim was bad, down to even the interface. Combat was boring and just spamming power attacks. Magic was boring since most spells were just upgraded versions of previous ones. Mage characters were weak since the damage didn't scale well and the only way to make it viable was to spam the dual cast destruction stunlock thingy. The crafting skills required a ton of grinding to be useful, and even then, Smithing was OP while Enchanting was fairly weak, and Alchemy was unnecessary given the amount of potions you find just walking around and the ease of battle. The UI is abysmal. Very few of the fights were hard unless you were trying to kill things obviously above your level. I always try to play a game all the way through in vanilla before modding, but I only made it through about 15 hours of Skyrim before I had to change things. Had the modding community not been so incredible, it would not be nearly as big. I think you misunderstood. I was saying that ever since Morrowind, Bethesda games have had great modding communities, and I think FO4 will be the end of that due to paid mods. Morrowind is my favorite game ever, and I've made a few mods for it myself. We're still alive and kicking
  23. I expect it to be easier and have less depth than 3 and NV. Any difficulty will be purely artificial. It will suck without mods. In fact, if it continues the downward trend, judging by where Skyrim was, it will be unplayably bad without mods. It will also have paid mods, meaning you'll have to pay even more than what I expect will be a $60 price tag. It will be the first Bethesda game since Morrowind that doesn't have huge modding community. Bethesda might even take a more active role in setting prices, and appropriate user mods, repackaging them as official DLC and charging out the ass. This will result in widespread mod piracy, and Bethesda, not willing to simply end paid modding and losing money, will instead create more and more restrictive DRM. Modding as a whole will decline rapidly as new Bethesda games restrict them more and more. Graphics will be shit. This engine is ancient and has not aged well. Tweaking it for newer hardware isn't going to make it better.
