Oh! xD

As far as Silent Hill goes I must admit: I haven't played the original SH yet. I have a copy of it, for some reason I never got around to it. I tried the PC version of SH2 but didn't stick with it. The only Silent Hill I played that I really liked was 3. ^^

I like what I've seen of the series and it has a hell of a forum, Silent Hill Heaven, but I don't know anything about the rift in their fandom either.

But I'm interested to hear about it. What happened?

Its old news but I'll TRY to explain some of it. Its a big, big mess. Ok, Basically. SH 1-2-3 had Team silent make and direct them ,while SH 4 only had one or two members helping out. 1-2-3 had much more elusiveand complicated stories. 2 was almost purely pyschological and symbolic/ 3 took traits from it. 4 was a direct change in the game, the monsters and the overall approach. It was change that people where iffy over not franchise breaking or anything. Cont-
