  1. Okay this was a pretty cute episode. But what I find most interesting about this is how it confirms the whole wanted poster for Sprout wasn't just an easter egg. Apparently he really is on the run and MIA, leaving Hitch in the need for another deputy. I wonder how much of a role this will play in Make Your Mark. Because honestly going off of this episode as well as how Zipp is going to do detective work in the comics, I can see her ending up as Hitch's deputy in the future.
  2. No. It would make no sense for them to be replaced in the first place if they were going to come back later.
  3. Now that we got to see footage of the show proper, rather than just basing our opinions of it based on screenshots, I have to say that it doesn't look too bad. While I obviously knew going in that it wouldn't be the same quality as the movie, there always the fear going into it that it was going to look bad in comparison. But thankfully that doesn't seem to be the case here. I would even go as far as to say that it looks pretty alright for a fully CGI animated show.
  4. I'll probably try to avoid them. I have always just wanted to see the episodes when they properly premiered, and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
  5. I actually really liked this episode. While some of the previous episodes have felt a bit rushed or that more could have been done with the content, I feel this one really did work well with its 5 minute running time. I also thought that it used social media in the story to tell a message about how trends come and go and that it is better just to be yourself was handled decently, and I hope to see if it can be continued to be utilized this well in the series in the future.
  6. I don't really think that will happen here. If only because of the whole magic disappearing thing is too big of a plotpoint to be explained or resolved in supplementary material such as the comics.
  7. So Discord really is returning here. Huh. I didn't really expect major characters from FiM to appear in the comics before appearing in the show proper.
  8. I don't really have much to say about this episode. However what I can say is that so far I'm rather enjoying the music coming out of this series. When we heard snippets of the Mane Melody song in the trailer for Tell Your Tale, I was waiting for when we would get to hear the full version, and I honestly have to say that when it finally came in this episode, it didn't disappoint. It's really fun and catchy, and grew on me a lot after repeated listening. I do wish it was a bit longer as it did feel like it cut off abruptly, but either way I still enjoyed it. And it's not even just the songs that I find to be noteworthy. When watching this episode I noticed that I also enjoyed the background music here as well. They have this whole Steven Universe-esque chiptune going for them that I find to be really charming.
  9. While it is clear that the animation is a downgrade from the movie, I would say that it doesn't bother me too much. The character models themselves look fine, and it is only really the backgrounds I find issues with. As long as they get polished up a bit as the series continues, I think I'll be fine with how it looks.
  10. I say that this depends on how long G5 runs for, and just how good its continued viewership ends up being.
  11. I like them. It really wasn't hard for me to get used to them, and I honestly think that they are going to a good job at capturing the personality of their characters.
  12. So far I'm liking it. It's pretty cute and I find it to be a nice thing to watch while I wait for Make Your Mark to finally premier.
  13. Well sense there aren't any other threads for the other 3 episodes released today, I'm just going to use this one to cover my thoughts on the first 4 episodes as a whole. With this in mind here are my overall thoughts on them so far: Firstly It didn't really take long for me to get to used to the new voice actors. I feel that they did a pretty good job at capturing the essence of the characters, and that the change between them from the movie actors really isn't going to be a problem for me. Next I have to say that I actually rather like the art style. I know that not everyone is going to like it, but I thought it did a decent job at capturing the style from the movie into 2D, especially when it came to minor characters like the guard pegasi seen in the second and third episodes. Which given that some of the initial attempts at turning the movie into a 2d art style such as the leaked bedding covers came out as uncanny, I see this as a notable improvement. Plus I just found it be really cute and that it fit the tone this webseries was going for pretty well. Overall I have to say that I liked what I have seen of it so far, and I look forward to seeing what else it has in store.
  14. Lol. Even with the introduction of a brand new generation, it looks some things will never change.
  15. Despite my many issues with, I have made some pretty good friends on there that I wouldn't have elsewhere, so I can't say I fully hate it.
  16. Given the many interviews and presentations that the people involved with have made a point to mention how they plan on having the Netflix series have breath taking CGI on par with that of the movie, and how expensive it would be to do so, I think that already answers your question.
  17. Looks cute. I look forward to seeing it premiere next week. I rather liked the short snippet of the song we got in the trailer, and I hope that this means that this series will have a lot of songs in it, given that they were some of the best parts of both FiM and A New Generation.
  18. Right now I would probably say Hitch. He is a bit of a goober to be honest, but that's what I like about him.
  19. I just assumed that they are the same vague relatively young adult age that the mane 6 were during the course of FiM.
  20. I had a feeling that this would be the case. So it's nice to see it be confirmed. What I find more interesting is how it mentions that it will consist of a combination of 44 minute specials and half hour episodes. While at this point we knew that season 1 of Make Your Mark would have 2 44 minute specials, I'm wondering if this is just describing the two we already know about, or if it means that future seasons will consist of a combination of 44 minute specials and 22 minute episodes as well.
  21. I think these screencaps did a better job at selling Tell Your Tale to me than the 30 second clip did. The backgrounds look really cute, and it looks like this show is going to have some really fun facial expressions. I mean just looking at Hitch's face when being lifted into the air by Pip and Zipp has got me hoping that that this series is going to be fun and expressive. and I look forward to seeing more from it.
  22. This was such a short clip that there really isn't a lot for me to talk about. I can't say that it greatly changed how I view the series. However I can say that it's nice to hear the new voice actors in action. For the most part they all sound pretty nice, with Izzy being the only really notably different from the movie.
  23. I'd be down for it. As much as I enjoyed G4 Equestria Girls, with how often it changed formats, it felt like it never reached its full potential. With this in mind I feel that a new take on the franchise could be a good thing as it could take the elements that worked in the previous incarnation and toss away what didn't, and create a more fully realized take than we previously got out of it.
  24. I don't know. G5 just started. It's not established enough for me to have come up with things that I absolutely do not want see happen in it yet. So I guess I can't really say I know what would make me quit the show entirely.
  25. If there were one word I would use to describe this fandom, that would probably be messy.
