  1. With how many times I have watched the Ms. Marvel trailer at this point, I have to say that Blinding Lights by the Weekend is living in my mind rent free.
  2. If it was done without my permission then yeah I would be pretty bothered by it.
  3. So apparently sometime between the end of G4 and the beginning of G5 Canterlot become some kind of desolate ruins. Interesting. For such an important location from the previous series to gain such a massive change, I hope that this isn't something regulated only to the comics. Because if this was happened to Canterlot, I'm interested in seeing what happened to other parts of Equestria previously covered inf FiM, and that is something I hope the show proper gets to explore.
  4. While I'm surprised that we are getting an official ASMR for My Little Pony of all franchises, having it tied to Pipp at least makes sense given her whole social media influencer thing going on. And to be perfectly honest, I think this is just the beginning. With how big of a role technology and even things like social media play in kids lives nowadays, I have a feeling Hasbro will want to tap into it and thus we will see more multimedia interactivity like this in G5. I mean with having a main character that is a popular social media influencer from a marketing standpoint it would be a wasted opportunity to not at least try to do so in my opinion. I mean this kinda stuff just writes itself.
  5. While I don't think it is ever going to reach the heights of its popularity, if G5 takes off, I can at least see it become a bit more active than it currently is.
  6. And even then, it's not something we should expect to see out of the gate. I mean it did take FiM quite a while to get to special guest stars for its episodes, so even if Make Your Mark ever does the same, it most likely wouldn't be in its first season.
  7. The most interesting thing to me about the trailer was when it talked about being able to upgrade Sunny's magical abilities. Given that it is clear at this point that her alicorn transformation was some form of temporary powerup, I wonder if through this game we will get a better understanding over how it works through this system of upgrading it.
  8. Regardless of whether or not this is a reliable source, If the G4 characters didn't return in G5, I honestly wouldn't mind it too much. They have had 9 seasons, and multiple spinoffs worth of screentime. I think it is more than fair at this point to pass the torch onto the new main cast. If any of the characters from FiM would return I would rather it be characters like Celestia or even an older version of Spike and for them to be used as more of mentor figures to guide and help the mane 5 grow and develop more than anything else.
  9. Mine is Twilight because unlike the other princesses given that she is a main character, she was given much more room to grow and develop over the course of the series.
  10. I got into it midway into season 2 back when I was 13. I really can't believe that it has been an entire decade sense I got into it and have been part of the fandom.
  11. It's not that I necessarily have much sympathy for Sprout, it's rather that compared to the villains from FiM, if he were to get a redemption arc, he wouldn't really need to be punished all that much for me to buy it. Like for all intents and purposes given the small scale of the movie, his villains actions really weren't all that big in the grand scale of things. Like his reign of terror lasted what no longer a week, and the worst he was successful in was that of property damage. If he were to get any real punishment, all I really need to see is him stripped of his title as deputy (as his actions proved he shouldn't be trusted with positions of power), and community service working to fix what he destroyed.
  12. While Dragon Dropped kinda came close to it, I wish we just straight up had an episode that finally addressed Spike's crush on Rarity and having him get over it, similarly to how Gravity Falls handled Dipper's crush on Wendy in the episode Into the Bunker.
  13. While this may turn out to be nothing more than a shovelware title, even if I hope it's not, the fact that G5 is getting a home console game straight out of the gate is pretty interesting. I mean G5 despite running for a decade didn't even manage to get one. So I see this as being a sign that Hasbro has a lot of plans or faith in this incarnation of MLP to be successful.
  14. I didn't really expect gen 9 to be released this year due to Legends Arceus, but I'm pleasantly surprised So far I have to say that it looks pretty promising. It being described as being open world is really exciting. I also really love the new starters and think they might even be some of the best we have had in a while. So yeah it looks pretty good so far and I can't wait until November where I can get it.
  15. It's perfectly fine if you don't really care for the art direction for Tell Your Tale, but let's be real here, it wouldn't really make sense for Hasbro to hire an expensive animation studio to work on it. Given that the series consists entirely of 5 minute shorts on their Youtube channel, it is clear that it isn't going to be the main priority of G5. Instead it is clear that Make Your Mark on Netflix will be, with Tell Your Tale being supplementary and acting more as an extension of the brand instead. Thus I find it silly to be like" Yes Hasbro totally should have hired this notable and expensive animation studio to work on what's essentially only going to be a simple series of bits and sketches".
  16. I personally find Equestria Games to be pretty underrated. While sure it may not actually focus on the titular games themselves, which I understand being disappointed by, but honestly I found it to be one of the episodes I ended up relating to the most. The whole message about not beating yourself up for your mistakes is something that I have been through before, and I felt that the show actually did a really good job at showcasing what it feels to be in that position and that it did a great job at getting me to emphasize with Spike there.
  17. Honestly I can't really remember. All I know is that I was exposed to it earlier than I probably should have been.
  18. Hmm. At this point I'm wondering if the fact that we have these two different series going on at the same time is because Hasbro or whoever else is involved decided to divide the two major types of stories FiM told into two separate series. For instance the fact that Tell Your Tale has soo many episodes ordered and for short 5 minute running times makes me believe that they will focus on short episodic slice of life shenanigans with the Mane 5 because what else would such a short running time be used for? And the fact that Make Your Mark has only 8 episodes makes me think about how some of the more serialized series on current streaming platforms tend to have small episode counts. For instance another animated series on Netflix, The Dragon Prince tends to have seasons that are only 9 episodes long and it is heavily serialized. So I wonder if that would be the same case here, with Make Your Mark focusing on telling a more serialized adventure based story.
  19. Sure, I probably will. I'm starting to warm up to the designs, especially when seeing them in different angles, and if I don't like it, the episodes are only 5 minute long anyways so it's not like I would be losing too much of my time. Plus If I don't like it there is still the CGI Netflix show to look forward to. So I don't really see any harm in checking it out.
  20. The only one I was surprised didn't reprise their role was Kimiko Glenn given that she had previous voice acting experience with roles on other animated series such as Horse on Centaurworld or Bridgette from Close Enough.
  21. This is pretty much how I feel as well. Like I didn't initially act with disgust, but it was more of a surprise than anything else as it was a pretty sharp contrast to the CG designs from the movie. But with that being said I think I'm starting to warm up to a bit. Although I feel that certain characters were translated better to this style than others. For instance I think Sunny and Pip actually ended up looking pretty good all things considered, and it's only really Hitch that looks all that off-putting. And that's not even considering how some designs look better in motion than in initial promotion material. I remember this same kind of backlash when it came to the initial reveal of Rise of the TMNT and look how that ended up turning out. So who knows, maybe the same could happen here. Either way I'm just waiting until we get a better look at the series, such as an actual trailer to get a solid opinion over how the series looks.
  22. I think it's a bit premature to write off the next generation entirely just like that. Sure it may suck that the voice actors are being replaced, but let's be real here, we all knew this was going to be the case. It wasn't a secret. Hasbro always planned to have A-List actors voice the characters in the movie and would hire cheaper sound-alikes for the series proper. So I don't see the need to make a big deal about it now.
  23. Nah. If any other character deserved to become an alicorn princess, specifically the princess of empathy, that title should have gone to Sunset Shimmer.
  24. I actually really like what we are seeing with this so far. I'm digging how it is going for a much more action oriented tone than what's traditionally expected from the studio.
  25. Christopher Nolan's Tenet. Christopher Nolan and his ego insisting on releasing the movie during a global pandemic, makes me never want to watch it out of pure spite.
