In addition to just having lousy eyesight, lately I've been having a lot of problems with double vision. Really made me realize just how much I take being able to see for granted.

  2. Dash doesn't get punished for the same reasons Starlight got off scot free for everything, Twilight wasn't punished for Lesson Zero, Fluttershy wasn't punished for Swarm of the Century, Pinkie wasn't punished for Too Many Pinkie Pies, and so on and so forth. When given a choice between doling out consequences, and exploring why people made the wrong decisions they did, the show picks the latter virtually every time. Which I'm cool with, because it's more interesting. RD is a terrific character who the show hasn't handled particularly well in recent seasons, and in this season in particular.
  3. Avatars are a part of how people present themselves online, along with things like usernames and signatures. None of that is too important to me compared to how people treat others and what kind of content they share, but I think it's natural to form impressions of people based on whatever you observe about em.

  6. Outside of Discord's little subplot (which was amazing), I found Twilight's Kingdom to be pretty forgettable. I don't think Twily becoming royalty really had any impact on the show or her character at all. Which isn't a good or a bad thing, really, but I feel MMC really oversold how important it was for her and made it seem like things were going to change more than they really did. Still prefer UniTwi visually, though. A Canterlot Wedding is unintentionally hilarious. It isn't a bad episode, but I felt it would've been much more interesting if it'd addressed Twilight's intense jealousy and paranoia. Thankfully, What About Discord (which I greatly enjoyed) finally got to that. A perfectly run of the mill, average, 5/10 episode of the show doesn't really feel worth watching to me anymore. Unless I can watch with friends, in which case they're fun
  7. Haven't seen anything past Buckball Season. Fave: 1: Saddle Row Review 2: Hearth's Warming Tail 3: No Second Prances 4: Stranger Than Fan Fiction. Least Fave: 1: Newbie Dash 2: 28 Pranks Later In a weird position, since I'd say 28 Pranks is /worse/ than Newbie Dash, but I don't dislike it as much in comparison. 3: Cart Before the Ponies
  8. I don't really think so. Some of em've just been really hard for me to enjoy.
  9. INFP, Enneagram type 9w1 in case anybody knows what that is. S' a more interesting personality typing system than MBTI imo.
  10. fite me irl m8 At first I disliked Awesome as I Wanna Be for dragging RD's character through the muck, but then I realized that Rainbow Rocks did that to more or less every character that wasn't Twilight or Sunset. After that, I began to enjoy the song in a "haters gon' hate" way. Still don't care much for Tricks Up My Sleeve, though. It's basically Awesome as I Wanna Be minus the energy. This, incidentally, is why Friendship Games > Rainbow Rocks imo.
  11. Generally speaking, I feel like I have a hard time relating to guys. Have a decent amount of male friends, and acquaintances I like well enough, but I'm really looking forward to when I don't have to live in a house full of dudes anymore. Never really felt like I belonged here. I'm afraid on confrontation, but find arguing invigorating. Sometimes I'll argue with people who I don't particularly disagree with at all. Not even doing it out of any philosophy like "Every idea deserves to be questioned" or anything like that, I just hunt for things to argue about. I'm also very opinionated about virtually everything, even though I often manage to convince myself I'm ambivalent or indifferent.

  14. If there're any Fire Emblem fans out there, I'm looking to get back into the series. Should I get Awakening, Birthright, or Conquest?

Oh, and PS: Whatever you do, stay away from Revelation. Trust me, I'm not going to say why because it would be spoiler-y, but that game is not worth the $20.

Yea, I haven't heard the best things about that one. Thanks for the in-depth analysis LW :3. I think I would like a difficult-ish game, but since I haven't really experienced a lot of the new mechanics and such that the 3DS games have added, it's a little tricky to weigh the options ^_^.

Def happy that they've added back the support system and given the characters more focus, more than ever before in fact. The downgrades in those areas were a big part of my losing i...

  15. I have a few questions. I assume a lot of discussion has gone down on Skype, but do y'all have a thread discussing everything that's gone down as well? Regardless of how much sympathy each staff member has for the people who resigned and what they said, I think you can all agree that what happened (or what the former staff perceived to have happened) needs addressing. I think a thread would be a more productive way of figuring how to do that than discussions that may be scattered across any number of Skype chats. If there is a thread, has every staff member been encouraged to weigh in? I don't mean like a "Hey, you should all respond to this" , but something like going around and personally approaching staff members (from all branches of Poniverse) and asking them to give their thoughts on the situation, no matter how brief. Do you think it would be helpful to give staff a way of anonymously suggesting things or airing grievances? Mite b a good way of getting people to share things before they boil over and lead to resignation. Not sure if it would have helped in this case, but it's an idea. I recall Aquila once had the idea of approaching people who have resigned, specifically people who didn't necessarily leave on the best terms, and asking them to (presumably judgment-free) talk a bit about why they left. What do you think of doing that? Bit of an intimidating proposal, but I think some common themes among those people could point to areas needing improvement. Or at least give food for thought. On that subject, there was a Feedback thread made by SCS (now Ocean Waves), that more or less coincided with his departure from staff. Y'think that topic might be worth revisiting? ------ You don't have to reply to me with an answer to any of these. Also, the questions are intended for any staff member who happens to be reading this. (Worrry not, I'm almost done!) I didn't reply to any of the threads while they were active, and I'm not going to launch into a huge reply now. A lot of things could've been handled better. A lot of people have been hurt, both on and off staff, and they have my sympathy. Out of respect for them, I have decided not to stir the pot. However, I will be very disappointed if people continue to angrily leave staff, and those who remain decide that there's nothing that, any point, could have been done better. Not saying that's what is happening now, since I obviously don't know. I sincerely wish the staff the best in sorting things out, and continue to both like and trust just about all of them that I've interacted with. ------ This is all I have to say for the time being, and don't intend on replying to this thread again. EDIT: typos tho
  16. i appreciate u and the video on ur profile

  17. Hope you're able to find a more fun and less dramatic place.

  18. I'd go so far as to say that good shows /have/ happened after this. The date range is a little silly too, since it only looks at when the cartoons started airing. Why did the "golden era" end in 2013, when all of those shows were still releasing new episodes?
