  1. EQG: like a 3 or 4. I don't hate it but don't feel like I'd ever rewatch this other than the cafeteria song

RR:  like a 6 or so. Soundtrack's solid.

FG: a 7 I think. I remember liking this one better than RR but can't really recall why other than having a really good time live reacting/shitposting along with my first viewing.

LoE: I listened to the soundtrack before it came out and was disappointed enough to skip on the movie

I remember thinking Forgotten Friendship was probably the best thing that'd come out of EQG, but apparently it doesn't count

  2. 1) Just One Small Thing

    2) Time to be Awesome

    3) Rainbow

    4) Open Your Eyes

    5) I'm the Friend You Need

    6) We've Got This Together

As a longtime Dash fan, Time to be Awesome was everything I wanted out of her in a song. She's cocky, confident and full of energy, and she's using all that energy to motivate people to be brave and chase their dreams, as she's chased hers. But Shannon Chan-Kent and Kristin Chenoweth collabing was just too magical for me not to have it at number one. Song was bouncier than a superball.

  3. Since the forum update, consecutive PMs made within a short period of time have been merged together instead of appearing as distinct messages. This is irritating because it's now more difficult to resume a conversation if there's a short break in the middle. If I finish some work and want to let a friend know I'm available to talk again, my messages are simply merged together and no notification is sent to the person I'm trying to talk to.  Which means I have to either wait several minutes to get their attention, or contact them in some other way.

It's also much easier to miss messages in general if conversations are moving at a moderate pace. If one person wants to add a detail or share something they forgot to mention, that addendum is now merged onto the end of a message that the other person can think they've already read.

I know that tech people have a million other things to do, but if it's feasible to turn off message merging in the PM system, I think it'd make it a much more effective way to talk to people.

  4. I joined a little before Season 3 began, and the next several months after that were very dramatic. Equestria Girls was announced, Twilight became an alicorn, Fighting is Magic got C&D'd, and there're probably other controversies I'm not remembering. The Twilicorn thing was probably the most divisive, with a lot of people making wild predictions, bashing people who liked the change, and some I believe even threatened a few of the writers. On the other hand, lots of people who weren't too big on the change but were generally more mature about it got lumped in with the crazies and caught some flak from the pro-Alicorn crowd. It was all very stupid and unpleasant.

The fandom now seems a lot more chill, though that might be because I'm less involved in it :derp:. Can't even recall the last time there was real drama.

Works on an iPhone 7. I do have one idea (a bit of a stretch), that I messaged Fhaolan on. Staff may want to keep this hidden as it impacts member history.

I'm on an iPhone 6 and have the same problem. Hadn't noticed since I'd never tried to view old messages from my phone before.

  6. Dislikes:

I preferred using the IP Board theme, and it's gone now.

Also liked the old mobile version of the site better. May have been more minimalist in nature, but it was easier to navigate.

The PM system looks a lot worse now, with the messages, usernames and avatars cramped down to make room for the random sidebar listing all the other PMs you may or may not have received recently. There's also no longer an option to delete messages, for whatever reason.

  7. Earlier today, the display of posts within threads was changed to more closely resemble the layout on the old version of the site. Like this:

But personal messages still use the display that came along with the new update, and currently look like this:

Would it be possible to make PMs look like posts do, currently? I feel that the larger username/avatar/etc make the whole communication process feel a lot more personal.

  8. Best horse. Did absolutely nothing wrong and remains best horse in spite of the mainstream media and Dave Polsky's longstanding efforts to destroy her reputation, trivialize her accomplishments and ignore significant character development on her part. She's hilarious, adorable, relatable and marketable.

Was generally unhappy with her portrayal during season 6, but she was still excellent outside of Newbie Dash and the zombie reference episode. Hoping next season will be a return to form for her.

  9. Dash doesn't get punished for the same reasons Starlight got off scot free for everything, Twilight wasn't punished for Lesson Zero, Fluttershy wasn't punished for Swarm of the Century, Pinkie wasn't punished for Too Many Pinkie Pies, and so on and so forth. When given a choice between doling out consequences, and exploring why people made the wrong decisions they did, the show picks the latter virtually every time. Which I'm cool with, because it's more interesting.

RD is a terrific character who the show hasn't handled particularly well in recent seasons, and in this season in particular.

  10. Outside of Discord's little subplot (which was amazing), I found Twilight's Kingdom to be pretty forgettable.

I don't think Twily becoming royalty really had any impact on the show or her character at all. Which isn't a good or a bad thing, really, but I feel MMC really oversold how important it was for her and made it seem like things were going to change more than they really did. Still prefer UniTwi visually, though.

A Canterlot Wedding is unintentionally hilarious. It isn't a bad episode, but I felt it would've been much more interesting if it'd addressed Twilight's intense jealousy and paranoia. Thankfully, What About Discord (which I greatly enjoyed) finally got to that.

A perfectly run of the mill, average, 5/10 episode of the show doesn't really feel worth watching to me anymore. Unless I can watch with friends, in which case they're fun :)

  11. Haven't seen anything past Buckball Season.

    Fave:

    1: Saddle Row Review

    2: Hearth's Warming Tail

    3: No Second Prances

    4: Stranger Than Fan Fiction.

    Least Fave:

    1: Newbie Dash

    2: 28 Pranks Later

In a weird position, since I'd say 28 Pranks is /worse/ than Newbie Dash, but I don't dislike it as much in comparison.

    3: Cart Before the Ponies

  12. Generally speaking, I feel like I have a hard time relating to guys. Have a decent amount of male friends, and acquaintances I like well enough, but I'm really looking forward to when I don't have to live in a house full of dudes anymore. Never really felt like I belonged here.

I'm afraid on confrontation, but find arguing invigorating. Sometimes I'll argue with people who I don't particularly disagree with at all. Not even doing it out of any philosophy like "Every idea deserves to be questioned" or anything like that, I just hunt for things to argue about. I'm also very opinionated about virtually everything, even though I often manage to convince myself I'm ambivalent or indifferent.
