Ah, that generalization again, as if all of us are torturing creatures day and night for the fun of it Other than that, though, I agree with you. A cat is a living thing, just like us humans; I'm pretty sure that ass wouldn't like it done to him. -

I don't get it. A pet peeve of mine is that some people seem to think characters with no goals just aren't interesting. Like Kyoko and Mami in Madoka Magica, they don't have a clearly defined goal either but still manage to be amazing characters (even though you guys probably don't know what I'm talking about). Just like these characters have no goal other than doing their job fighting witches, Applejack continues her job maintaining the farm and generally being the town's resident honest and helpful pony. Back on topic... "Applejack is the most dependable and honest friend a pony could have. But when rift arises between her friends, Applejack's honesty is put to the test." Just a basic, simple plotline. Bam. Includes the main element of the show, friendship? Check. Displays one of Applejack's most distinguishing characteristics? Check. Is nothing about farming or apples? Check and check. It's not that hard at all. -

Hate thread? Hah... definitely need more of those! :roll: The short answer is that I don't. It doesn't seem like people give him enough credit nowadays, whether it's us or his friends in the actual cartoon. In terms of all the main characters, Spike is probably the most flawed, being somewhat insensitive and clueless at times, and even more forgettable than Applejack, in that he usually isn't even counted as a main character. There's a lot people seem to overlook about him, such as his loyalty and persistence. This season hasn't given him enough yet, but I hope he'll get a tad bit more screentime in an episode. -

'Fraid how it's always gonna be. Whether it's a fandom about friendship and magic or a fandom about shooting people with AK-857 lasers, it's always going to have humanity's characteristics rear its ugly head somewhere, "most tolerant" or not. MLPforums is most definitely a friendlier fandom than most. There's hardly any place else where'd people would be willing to help get over your suicidal thoughts or have decent, reasonable discussions about topics just about anyone could start up. Then of course you're going to hope in vain. Expecting absolutely everyone to be completely perfect the way you want them to be is a foolish thought. We're sometimes – okay, mostly jackasses, but that's why there would be an equal about of good qualities of people to balance those out. I'm also curious. Some people would be willing to help you if you tell them what's wrong, because at the moment I'm receiving a "I hate these people only because they're popular" vibe from you.
