Most people do care about it, and i don't see what's wrong with it, it's a sporting event that only occurs once every 4 years, so it's treated as a huge event, as athletes from around the world compete in various sports and for some of the people watching, it gives them a sense of pride fro their country. If you don't care about it, ignore it, but i don't see what is wrong with seeing stuff on various websites about it
