  1. Oh, I thought I posted in this thread. I must have meant to but forgot. I'm going to pile on to the compliments and say that it's amazing.
  2. It's clearly Gord[on] Free[man] Main Characters. Clearly Gordon Freeman of Half-Life fame becomes one of the main characters, as Valve announcing Episode 3 and a male character being added to stop any complainers. Explains why the message is Valve-style cryptic. It turns out that the Borealis is a transportation device to Ponyville and the Combine are the adult form of Parasprites. But seriously, I have nothing. I generally assume things like this are hoaxes.
  3. Previous generation ponies! Kill them with fire! With that out of the way, my local Wal*Mart didn't have a lot of the stuff listed there. And it's hilarious how little the toys look like the characters in the show.
  4. Ooh, I think you joined the herd about the same time I did. Welcome to the forums, make yourself at home.
  5. She was an alright character, but I can't see her making a return. She seemed like a single episode character. A one-trick pony*, if you will. I personally didn't find her likeable as a character that much, but I really wouldn't be adverse to her appearing again. She seems to have a fan following, though. *You have no idea how long I sat on that pun before using it.
  6. If there was ever a PSA episode, I doubt they'd just bluntly say the message. I mean, just imagine any of the characters saying the word "drugs". Seems awkward, doesn't it? I think the closest they'd do to a PSA would be an episode where there's a new plant that makes anyone who eats it find everything funny or something, but it turns out everyone who keeps eating it becomes it's servant and it takes over Ponyville, and Twilight's the only one with the sense to get everyone to stop eating the plant. It ends with a letter being written to Princess Celestia about everyone learning that while eating the plant made everyone happy short-term, it ended up being destructive and they needed to be saved. Really, integrating it into a plot like that's the only way they could get a message like that out without it feeling too awkward and forced. Much better than having Rainbow Dash fly up and shout DON'T DO METH!
  7. I'm not exactly rich, so I really only buy last year's games, which makes it hard for me to judge how good a year's games were. From what I played of it, Skyrim's glitches really killed part of it for me. Physics glitches, tons of misc. glitches and the fact I got stuck on a main quest and couldn't continue made me give it up. Portal 2, while fun, (remember, this is my opinion) didn't really deserve a lot of the attention it got. A lot of the puzzles were way too easy, and Valve's trying to pull a TF2 and slam it with microtransactions hurt it. I got sick of seeing the memes that whenever I see the things people make the jokes about, even if referred to in their natural habitat (in the game) I get annoyed. A game nobody's else mentioned in this thread but I feel the need to is: Trine 2. Truly an amazing game. Puzzles are great, platforming is great, the scenery is beautiful, so is the music. My only regret is, I never got to play it multiplayer with anyone. Also, an awesome friend of mine gifted me Sonic Generations. My experience with the Sonic series is with the old-school games (Sonic 1-3, Knuckles, CD, etc.), and surprisingly, I'm liking it so far. But in general, at least to me, since I don't play a lot of "mainstream" games, it just seemed like another year for stereotypical modern military FPSes.
  8. I've been watching all the episodes during the wait. Still, kinda lame waiting for new episodes, but eh, no episodes for a while is better than having rushed episodes or something, amirite? *twitch*
  9. I loved King of the Hill. It had a type of humor you never see in animated shows these days. Family Guy and the like annoy me because they rely less on being funny and more on LOOK AT ME SOMETHING RANDOM IS HAPPENING HE'S FIGHTING A CHICKEN I RIPPED A GUY'S FACE OFF. The characters and situations were actually... relevant, for lack of a better word. You didn't have aliens and talking dogs and giant chickens. You had believable characters, and, in my opinion, that makes it's humor better.
  10. Watch repeatedly until you cheer up? Okay now, seriously. It seems pretty much every corner of the internet's got depressed people, and I too am one of them, so at least there's that. Depression's everywhere on the tubes. All I can really do is pile onto the other advice people have given. Something you could try is, if it's problems getting you down, sit down with a pencil and a sheet of paper/at your computer with a blank document open, and think about possible ways to solve said problems and write them down. Getting things sorted out like that can help make a burden feel lighter, and the understanding you might get from doing that might make it feel less ominous. Or, since you're not sure, just do something that normally makes you happy, might help.
  11. No no no, your post isn't too long at all. And welcome to the community. I hope you like it around here. You fit the description of a lot of bronies, spending a lot of time on the computer, etc. etc. You should fit in and have fun here, no problem.
  12. Oh, alright. For a second there I guessed the only image editing software you had was paint, which I can't even imagine having to try to actually use.
  13. I hate to hijack your thread with my own artistic masterpiece, but here. But, seriously. Spyro40k, there's a free image editor out there called Paint.NET. It's not as good as a fancy program like Photoshop, but it's certainly better than MS paint. If you don't know about it, you might try downloading it.
  14. Your majesty, Discord and his minions have seized the country of Equestria! *opens parchment* It is written: only The Elements of Harmony can defeat Discord.
  15. For MS paint, that's not too shabby. I would've just used the circle tool to make a circle for the head, body, eyes, and then use the pencil thing to draw stick legs and pupils and mane/tail, then bucket-fill with appropriate colors. Yes, I'm lazy. So, applause on this artistic masterpiece.
  16. Welcome to the herd. We have cupcakes. Also, I kinda have the same problem of posting massive walls of text on forums. Breaking it down into bite-sized paragraphs helps.
  17. Winter Wrap-up for me. I just cannot get that song out of my head sometimes. Art of the Dress is really good, too, but it's not stuck in my head as often as Winter Wrap-up is. I'm kinda fond of the main theme, too. I never really see anyone say anything about it, but I like it. I like all the songs, though. Just some more than others. Always wanted to see Winter Wrap-up done using the instrumental MIDI sound-effect-stuff from Banjo Kazooie's Freezeezy Peak.
  18. Well, something that's bugged me recently is, well, the fact I entered the community late like I did, and missed out on a lot of humor/community stuff-whatnot. So, could people help me catch up by listing and posting about stuff (fanon, popular videos/musics, important people, etc.) that I might have missed out on? A little bit of this forum's history would be nice, too, just so I know. Apologies if I posted this in the wrong section. Also, how exactly does this forum's repping work? While I'm making thread a thread to ask questions anyway, I might as well ask.
  19. Welcome to the forums! I haven't been here long myself, but from my experience so far, you'll probably like the place.
  20. Born in the year of 1992, male, favorite color is blue. Not much else to say.
  21. I personally think a good episode for introducing a non-brony would be A Dog and Pony Show. It's a great episode, and one of my favorites. The humor's done well, and I guess it's less "girly" than most episodes, which would make it more likely to appeal to a person opposed to watching a "girly cartoon". The episode makes a few references that are easy to spot, and the diamond dogs themselves are great characters. It just might get a non-brony hooked, which is always a good thing.
  22. I agree with 83awsm. If MLP devolves from FiM into, well, how previous generations were, than my interest will go with it. But, even if such a thing happens (And I can't foresee it happening), the community will keep on burning for quite some time. Friendship is Magic is a great show, with an unlikely fanbase (us). The fact it's popularity has reached the height it has, especially among the unexpected demographic (us), leads me to believe they'll try to keep the appeal of the show alive as long as they can. The art is great, the story is great, the characters are great, the VAs are great, and I can't really foresee myself losing interest unless, like previously mentioned, it devolves. Maybe if they took it in some weird direction, like giving the mane characters the ability to fuse Transformers-style or something, I'd lose interest. But what are the odds of that?
  23. I've had a good time posting here. Everyone's really friendly here, I definitely plan to stick around. I also really like how active the place is. I mean, there's been a reply since I started typing this. My only problem is, seeing all the good artists here makes me wish I was better at art. Maybe I'll start practicing drawing again, who knows.
  24. Mostly VGM here: My playlist tends to have music from games like Megaman X, Earthbound, Chrono Trigger, Donkey Kong Country... I DO listen to some music not from video games, though. The tackiness of country and the people dressing like pop star cowboys, as well as the lyrics, make me avoid it. Pretty much, I listen a VGM I like, then find out it's genre and try out a "real" song in it. How I started listening to Metal.
  25. I'm gonna have to say that, well, as trolls, they're succeeding. The point is, sure, the haters are bad, but the kind of people who do bad things like this are the reason a lot of people hate the brony community. Pretty much, this one guy being dumb makes non-bronies (and haters) lump the good bronies in the same group as them. In turn, the haters will be able to go "Hah, bronies suck. They're all trolls. Remember that "war" they waged? What losers." without knowing that not everyone wants people doing things like that. tl;dr version: He's a troll, probably indifferent to the show itself, just doing it for the lulz, and will make us look bad in the process. If he stumbles on this thread, he'll be all "A winrar is me!". Edited to break into paragraphs so it's easier on the eyes, unlike this tiny text here.
